Back to the topic of weekend rides, I can't ride on Saturday, I have Darts in Taupo. Anyone wanna ride with me on Sunday?

I have the perfect solution for you SC

Get a map of the North Island, throw a dart at it and go riding :niceone:
After all if you are good at darts you should be able to hit wherever you want to go:niceone::bleh:

You're just jealous that the old ChunderAce hasn't evolved past that Neanderthal stage. :Pokey: right back at yaI thought that was funny. I is just upset at the way we are performing in Moto GP. Superbikes is different though come on Haga.

Always welcome, mate. Next time tho, can you give me a couple minutes to 'fix' your brakes first...that'll get your average speed up

[QUOTE=canarlee;1195028]anyone interested in a midweek ride?

just to let people know, this ride (if it happens) is NOT an attempt at a wednesday ride to "split the week in two", it is purely as stated clearly and concisely in the 1st post on that thread as a ride for people that cant make the weekend ride!

Stickchick
6th September 2007, 16:29
Dude I don't really think you are getting at what Mstrs and Tart have said. They were just saying that there is normally a Wednesday night ride when daylight savings comes along. But if you want to organise a different night as well as the Wed Night then thats cool too, but their Wednesday ride is going to still happen because it splits the week in two.

canarlee
6th September 2007, 17:08
i know exactly what they are saying, that is why the thread title does not have a day on it, nor is there as yet a specific day within the original post. it is meant for people who cannot make the weekend ride. also, there is not a wednesday ride at the moment so what difference does it make? when there is a wednesday ride people can then choose to do one of or both rides, there is no "law" or "rule" to say that a ride has to take place on a certain day is there?

MSTRS looking forward to talking re brakes. As most will have guessed I also
do shiftwork. Swings & Roundabouts with that. The Saturday PM rides are my favorite, Summer Wed nights when I'm not working, sounds cool. My days off
during the week vary from week to week. But if anyone wants to Tee Up a ride during the week I'm interested. The friendship & camaraderie with you guys is second to none, you have made me feel very welcome.

I know that I'm closer to next Saturday than last , but work sucks . any how I just wanted to say I was most impressed with last Saturdays ride , far too often in the past I have ridden for the first time with unknown riders who are "just out for a slow ride " and have gotten upset when I've told them they ride like twats and they can shove there invite to the next ride . Thank you for restoring my faith in road riders , you guys and gals do as you say and I felt comfortable riding with you . Must admit to getting a giggle out of youth , entheuasim and a gravel driveway though . Hoping to get more time to ride with you , see you on the road , Dennis.

ok, i had the last thread i made removed.

i have put a new thread up >>>> http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=56593 <<< this one clearly states in the title and within it is not for wednesdays! so can we not spoil it please people (you know who you are).

it is for people that cant make the only ride there is in HB at the moment which is held on a saturday, although there will be a wednesday ride this one cannot be on a wednesday due to other people being upset by it!?

if anyone is interested can they post there or drop me a pm and we will see if we can arrange something!

it is only an idea at the moment to see if there is any interest.

Weather looks great for tomoorow, However unless my toyota starlet magically turns into a Gixxer overnight i won't be able to join you guys, on monday morning heading to work the Mighty GPX finally sucked the Kūmara. Looks like i managed to kill it before it killed me. Which is a good thing i guess :) Cooked a big end bearing though, piston also hit the head and squashed a ring. Found out this afternoon that the crank is buggered too. Whadda ya expect from a 250 with 72,000km's on the clock and ridden like i did? Ohwell something to do i guess:rockon: hehe, Rebuild time!! But what do you reckon about heading down to Kairakau Beach this afternoon?
It is about 80km down there, and then I thought we could head back via Patangata and then home via Te Onepu etc?
All up only about 180km clicks?

Very very lucky

The bank down was significant, so was the steel post sticking out of the ground mm from the initial impact.
Apparently on the last flip of the bike (which cleared the fence), it was very lucky not to land on BigG

It went end for end a few times

So someone was looking out for our KBHB brother :), but then again why was that pine cone there in the first place :bleh:

Pics

1. The road (where the last bike is parked in about where BigG was already in the grass)

2. He was just on the road side of the marker there, riding on the grass and doing ok by the look of it

3. In this image, you will see 2 dark patches of dirt (just behind BigG in the blue leathers), this is the point of impact, it was huge washout!!:eek5:, you can also see how far the bike went after flipping over and over, BigG ended up leaning against the fence

4. Close up of the washout! The yellow thing in the foreground is the steel post sticking out which held the marker up (now laying down)

5. Pics of the bike

I don't know how you managed to climb on the gixxer, now I'm doubly glad that I chose to go real easy. BTW you are a good pillion.

New Warrant? I will be coming to play this weekend. The trip back from Taupo on Kiwifruits ZX10 has set me back a little with my neck but nothing a few cracks for the professionals won't fix though. I'm in need of a new helmet though so thats on my priority list.

Sorry about your off G, Really pleased you're ok, I thought you were going to be in much worse condition when I saw your bike.

Hope you got home OK Jazz? Looked a bit wet up the Taupo road when we came home mid avo. Was going to give Pat the gixxer for the day to ride with you but we went out to see BigG. Nice to meet you again.

Arrived home safe and sound :) was a wet and windy ride most of the way, I realized my cordura pants leak :pinch: but was nice to be out on the road again!

Thanks every one for putting up with my 2stroke fumes :p Hope fully see you all again some time soon :2thumbsup

Can you help me with people that can weld plastics for bikes? No not for my Gixxer....but one should say that quietly cos it will happen eventually..but for a friend who needs some work done. No not BigG. Well he might but thats not who I am asking for.
Here in the Hawkes Bay but other areas would work if they are good.

Corner is quite decieving, you enter coming over a crest and it looks more like it has a kink in the straight after, not an actual continuingg right hander then a left hander also. it mighta caught me out aswell if i hadn't been behaving.

Either Way, We're all glad you walked away in one piece Big G. Hopefully you'll be back with us before long :) best of luck with healing up and selecting a new bike. I'll keep it brief here and not suggest anything in particular  ...Gixxer...

Thats a nice bike but they call it an 08 and it is the middle of 07. Is that good? Thats very futuristic don't you think?

Zuki will bring their 08 out near the end of the 07 year. Then it will be more up to date than the old 08 R6.

bugger! good save. just out of interest, what happens if there is too much oil? i have an idea its not good, but not sure what exactly happens.

ive done that... overfilled the gn once. and the virago once. have also ridden a gn from wangas to levin and back with NO oil and still she ran [albeit a tad rattlier]

MSTRS
17th September 2007, 14:19
...what happens if there is too much oil? ...

Hard to say. But one or more of three things can happen.
1. Nothing
2. Excess will be forced through the crankcase breather into the air filter box
3. Excess will be pressurised up past the rings
A small excess amount is unlikely to be a problem , but 20-25% over...who knows.

sunhuntin
17th September 2007, 14:22
thanks for that. i know at work, if the oil in a car is over half full, we recommend the driver to check in a week, stating that having too much is as bad as having nothing, but ive never known the reason why.

Erm... yeah.... So maybe I got a little enthusiastic with the oil filling thing... BUT it did need oil and I had intended to put only half a litre in ... just that the enthusiasm thingy took over!

Thought i'd let you all know that there will be racing on THIS weekend in manfield. It is a two-day event (Sat & Sun), the races are endurance so there should be some good action and battles to see going on :D:banana:

I will be heading down on friday afternoon in the car with Zac, (make a little road trip of it) and staying in fielding on friday night.

MSTRS and Tart will be coming down on sat at somestage if anyone wishes to get in contact with them and make a ride out of it then feel free to do so :).

I will also be riding in the F3 Class for Team Cudby on a NSR600. so im hoping that'll all go well :). (Sadly the GPX's race days are over.)

(P.s I have had a peek a the race entries and see that Craig Sherriffs has registered for the first time this round on his GSXR1000 :D )

You can always leave home earlier and take the long way to work, then take the long way home. Via Taupo perhaps?

If any of you guys need a place to stay in Taupo just send me a PM or text :)

Hey guys

Could be on. Are you racing both days or just one. i need to get down there as someone owes me cake.:woohoo:
