Says a lot about "left/right" political parties when they share interchangeable parts? - policies and backers no different either! - :msn-wink:Being theatened by your party is the point to take here I think. At least this last clown show has solidified the Reps. in standing up for the Constitution. Neither article of inpeachment lays out high crimes or mistimeaners. Pelosi trying to tell another co-equal branch of Govt., that she has absolutely no influence over, how to do their job is laughable.

When the president of the United States asked the president of Ukraine to investigate, he was asking him to investigate crimes at the highest levels of both governments. This video lays bare the the amount of corruption in Ukraine that took place under the Obama administration beginning in 2013 and explains clearly how Ukraine was corrupted by Americans. -

So why did the Barr instigated investigation into the origins of the Russian investigation come up with 0 (zero!) arrests?
How many arrest and convictions in that Russian investigation? Plenty!
Are there any of Trumps campaign team not behind bars? :killingme
But, hey you and Austin 2.0 can keep believing that a man who pleaded guilty to misappropriating donations from his charity to his campaign is the right man for draining the swamp.

Geoffrey Kabaservice is the director of political studies at the Niskanen Center in Washington DC

The Republican strategy, clearly, is to undermine and delegitimize the impeachment inquiry. Republicans are portraying the inquiry as a hoax and an attempted coup by Democrats desperate to reverse the results of the 2016 election, unrelated to any actual presidential wrongdoing. The White House’s refusal to cooperate with Congress by sending legal representation to the impeachment hearings was explained by Trump counselor Kellyanne Conway as resistance to “colluding with an illegitimate process”.

Why are Republicans taking this approach? Largely because they have no other choice, given the considerable weight of evidence that the president did in fact abuse his power and obstruct Congress, as charged in the impeachment articles.
The poet Carl Sandburg is credited with saying: “If the facts are against you, argue the law. If the law is against you, argue the facts. If the law and the facts are against you, pound the table and yell like hell.
In the short term, then, the Republican strategy of stonewalling and counter-accusations may pay off. The votes on impeachment in the House and removal in the Senate will almost certainly break along uniform party lines, making it easier for Republicans to portray the process as driven entirely by partisanship.
In the longer term, however, the Republican approach to impeachment will probably prove counterproductive.
The party’s critical weakness, as revealed by the 2018 midterm elections, is that it has lost the support of the college-educated and mostly suburban voters (especially women) who once used to reliably vote Republican. By attempting to sabotage the impeachment process and refusing to address the substance of Trump’s actions, the Republican party will further damage its image with these voters and make it even harder to regain a governing majority.
For all these reasons, Republicans in Congress, by turning the impeachment crisis into a circus, are likely to further alienate the swing voters who cost the party control of the House in 2018 (and may deprive it of Senate control in 2020).

Republican approach to the impeachment inquiry appeared recently in the judiciary committee testimony of the George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley, who was the sole legal expert called by Republicans. conceded that Trump’s phone call to the Ukrainian president “was anything but perfect”
Recently, the Republican congressman Francis Rooney of Florida demanded that several members of Trump’s administration with direct knowledge of the president’s orders on Ukraine – including the secretary of state, Mike Pompeo; the acting White House chief of staff, Mick Mulvaney; and Trump’s attorney, Rudy Giuliani – testify in the impeachment hearings.

“Firsthand accounts like these,” Rooney said, “would affirm that the impeachment process is seeking substantive outcomes based on real facts and accurate information, rather than reflecting a more political objective.”
Republicans appear locked into their strategy of trying to dismiss impeachment as a partisan sham, despite the likelihood that this will make it harder to win back college-educated suburban swing voters. In hindsight, Republicans may come to feel that this play for short-term political advantage came at too high a cost.

Husaberg has been reading his stuff since 2010. I've been reading it since he arrived in 2005, it's not like we don't know what to expect. He used to post safety related comments, but his manner was terrible and detracted from what could have been a positive contribution.

He used to bang on about situational awareness but had ninety demerit points IIRC which would indicate that his own situational awareness wasn't all that shit hot.

He sees conspiracies everywhere and he always wants an inquiry. A significant proportion of threads he starts take a shortcut to pink Hell. It seems ages since he posted anything sensible or positive. I met him once and he seemed normal, but that was a long time ago.

Hunter Biden only picks the best stripper sloots to send out to sex shops for dildos so the other strippers can dildo his ass while one of 5 baby momma stripper sues his ass for corruption......

True story.

https://www.zerohedge.com/political/hunter-biden-accused-156m-ukraine-money-laundering-scheme-court-filing-linking-debunked

Hunter Biden complains his stripper baby mama is trying to 'embarrass' him because he is Joe's son by demanding details of his cash from Ukraine during bitter paternity dispute

Hunter Biden had his December 13 filing in his paternity case with baby mama Lunden Roberts, 28, unsealed by a judge Thursday, DailyMail can disclose
His legal team argued information that came from his deposition scheduled for December 23 could 'unreasonably annoy, embarrass or oppress' Biden
Roberts filed papers in Independence County, Arkansas in May, saying Biden is the father of the 16-month-old child. A DNA test proved Biden to be the father
She is seeking child support from Biden, 49, and is demanding for him to turn over his financial details so the court can establish how much he should pay
Biden has been trying to keep his details about his money under seal
On Wednesday, Roberts accused Biden of refusing to hand over his financial records and demanded him for him to turn over all documents
DailyMail revealed last Friday that Biden's wife Melissa Cohen, who he married after a 10-day romance in May, is pregnant with his fifth child

Hunter Biden, Devon Archer, Chris Heinz, Bevan Cooney. Darin Feinstein, John Gallanis, all party boys of rich families, involved in this lawsuit of money laundering and counterfeiting, and going down!

Can't wait to watch this play out!

Its all in this ZH link I posted a couple of posts back but its worth another look....

https://www.zerohedge.com/political/hunter-biden-accused-156m-ukraine-money-laundering-scheme-court-filing-linking-debunked

"A new filing in an Arkansas lawsuit against Hunter Biden claims that the former Vice President's son "is the subject of more than one (1) criminal investigation involving fraud, money laundering and a counterfeiting scheme."

Filed by private investigator Dominic Casey of D&A Investigations on behalf of Lunden Alexis Roberts - with whom Hunter fathered a child, Monday's "Notice of Fraud and Counterfeiting and Production of Evidence" alleges that Hunter Biden and associates Devon Archer and John Kerry stepson Christopher Heinz engaged in a money laundering scheme which accumulated over $156 million between March 2014 and December 2015.

According to the document, Biden, Archer and Heinz became directors of consulting firm Rosemont Seneca Bohai, LLC in order to "conceal their family members ownership," establishing financial accounts at Morgan Stanley and China Bank, the latter of which was used in a money laundering scheme.

Biden and associates are accused of using the counterfeiting scheme "to conceal the Morgan Stanley et al Average Account Value."

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2019/12/new-hunter-biden-subject-of-multiple-criminal-investigations-related-to-fraud-money-laundering-and-counterfeiting-scheme/

"According to new court documents filed Monday in Hunter Biden’s Arkansas paternity case, Hunter is linked to multiple criminal probes related to “fraud, money laundering and a counterfeiting scheme.”

The court documents did not disclose which law enforcement agencies were behind the criminal probes into Hunter Biden.

A Florida-based private-eye firm, D&A Investigations brought forward the claims on Monday in the ongoing case against Hunter’s baby mama Lunden Roberts.

Hunter had a child with 28-year-old Lunden Roberts after meeting her at a DC strip joint where she worked as a stripper and she is demanding a hefty child support payment!

Ms. Roberts dragged Hunter Biden into a nasty court battle after he has ‘refused to pay child support for over a year’ and refused to pay her $11,000 legal bill.

And now Hunter Biden’s nasty paternity battle with Lunden Roberts is unearthing documents that feckless media sycophants and Republican lawmakers have failed to produce.

Bravo, Lunden Roberts!"

Evidence against Biden 100% non existent according to FBI.
So non existent that Trump had to attempt to illegally withhold congressional approved funds in violation of the law to try and forcethe leader of another country to attempt to open an investigation in the hope creating another distraction to help his own campaign.

Everyone knows damn well that large factions of the FBI AND CIA were in these Dems (and others) pockets.

The fact the FBI said anything at this point is totally irrelevant as they have proven to be as corrupt (more so actually) as Biden and co.

Its all going to slowly leak out over the coming months and eventually come down on the Dems like a ton of bricks.

post the proof or urinate off its pretty simple.

not links, not innuendo, proof facts.
If you want to know what facts are they are the polar opposite to what you normally post.
Posting links to documents is not proof, they need to be actually tied to the cases and effect the outcome. I.E how it effects the facts.

Rudi refuses to testify what possibly could he have to hide
President Trump
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/dec/01/rudy-giuliani-trump-ukraine-legal-jeopardy

Rudy Giuliani said Tuesday that he would not testify before the House Intelligence Committee
Rudy Giuliani, President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer who is accused of leading a shadow foreign policy in Ukraine, defied a congressional subpoena Tuesday for documents that House Democrats sought as part of the impeachment inquiry.
Giuliani joins a growing list of White House and Trump administration officials who have refused to testify before Congress or have been blocked from doing so by the administration, including U.S. Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland, who was blocked from testifying Tuesday.

When the former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani emerged as one of Donald Trump’s most bareknuckle defenders during the Russia investigation, attacking his former colleagues in the justice department, people asked: “What happened to Rudy?”
Now, as federal prosecutors tighten a net of criminal investigations around Giuliani, the question has become: “What is going to happen to Rudy?”
The net tightened again last week when it emerged a grand jury had issued a broad subpoena for documents relating to Giuliani’s international consulting business as part of an investigation of alleged crimes including money laundering, wire fraud, campaign finance violations, making false statements, obstruction of justice, and violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act.

But in no version of events does Giuliani appear not to be in big trouble.

The immediate source of his current problems is the work he did in Ukraine over the last two years for himself and on behalf of Trump, who instructed the Ukrainian president to speak to Giuliani in a 25 July phone call.
Giuliani wanted the Ukrainians to announce an investigation of Joe Biden, Trump’s chief political rival, according to US officials who testified in the impeachment hearings. In pursuit of his errand, Giuliani contacted current and former Ukrainian prosecutors, multiple Ukrainian presidential administrations and multiple Ukrainian oligarchs, according to testimony.
Prosecutors are investigating whether Giuliani offered the oligarchs help with their problems with the US justice department in exchange for help with his project to harm Biden, a charge Giuliani has denied.
In a telephone interview with the Guardian, in response to a question about whether he was nervous that Trump might “throw him under a bus” in the impeachment crisis, Giuliani said: “I’m not, but I do have very, very good insurance, so if he does, all my hospital bills will be paid.”In an interview with disgraced former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly last Tuesday, however, Trump distanced himself from Giuliani.

Trump forced to pay $2m over misuse of charity money
New York Attorney General Letitia James: 'No one is above the law — not a businessman, not a candidate for office, and not even the president of the United States'
Donald Trump has paid $2m to eight charities as part of a court-ordered judgment against the president, who was accused of self-dealing and using charitable donations for his campaign.
In a settlement reached on 7 November, Mr Trump admitted to "persistent" violations of federal and state campaign finance laws by abusing the tax-exempt status of his Donald J Trump Foundation and using it as "little more than a chequebook" to support his campaign and his business.

1. The Trump 2020 campaign put the Trump Foundation’s name on promotional materials and ceremonial checks related to a fundraiser that he, as a candidate, held for military veterans in January 2016. (The Trump Foundation was ostensibly a charity, and charities can’t participate in political campaigns.)

2. Trump used $100,000 of the Trump Foundation’s money—which was raised almost entirely from other people—to settle an ordinance dispute that his Mar-a-Lago club/vacation home was having with the city of Palm Beach, Florida. (He had violated the ordinance in question by flying an enormous American flag on an 80-foot flagpole, which, admittedly, is a funny way to get sued by the city of Palm Beach.)

3. Trump used $157,820 of the Trump Foundation’s money to settle a legal dispute with a man who’d won a $1 million hole-in-one prize during an event held by another charity at a Trump golf course in New York. (The resolution agreement released by New York state says that a company from which the outside charity had purchased “ ‘hole in one’ insurance” was responsible for denying the man his prize. Per reporting by the Washington Post’s David Fahrenthold, who uncovered a great deal of the activity covered in New York’s suit, the question at issue was whether Trump’s golf course had made the relevant hole too short.)

4. Trump used $25,000 of the charity’s money to make a donation to a political group that supported then–Florida attorney general Pam Bondi at the same time that Bondi was considering whether to sue “Trump University” for defrauding its “students.” (Bondi did not, but New York’s attorney general did, which led in part to the other multimillion-dollar fraud settlement that Trump paid since taking office.) (Bondi now works for the White House as a special adviser to Trump on matters related to impeachment.)

6. Trump used $10,000 of the Trump Foundation’s money to buy a painting of himself (Donald Trump) that he hung inside his Doral resort in Miami.

7. Trump used $32,000 of the Trump Foundation’s money to pay “stewardship” costs for a piece of property in Westchester County, New York, that he’d donated to a land preservation group (but only after attempting unsuccessfully to build a golf course and luxury housing on it).

Now that Trump has been impeached by the House of congress, Unlike Nixon who quit prior to being impeached, he can never be pardoned for these crimes. He cannot pardon himself , and he cannot be pardoned by a future president.
Even if a subsequent president wanted to pardon Trump they can not.
Article II, section 2 of the constitution gives a president the power to pardon anyone who has been convicted of offenses against the United States, with one exception: “in Cases of Impeachment.”

Now how is this admission by Joe Biden (presumably acting on behalf of the Obama administration) any different to what the Democrats are accusing Trump of?

I see Santa gave you no common sense again this year plus some more paranoia as well.

• Biden didn’t blackmail Ukraine. His demand that a prosecutor be fired was the will of the U.S. government and other Western leaders.
• There’s no evidence that Hunter Biden was under investigation at the time Biden made his request.
• Trump wasn’t simply "asking if it was true." He wanted a public announcement of an investigation of the Bidens to benefit himself. Aid to Ukraine was held up in the meantime.
Fighting corruption would not have required Trump to encourage Zelensky to work with Rudolph Giuliani, Trump’s personal lawyer, who has said that he was working in Ukraine to advance his client’s personal interests

What Biden did in Ukraine Biden in 2015 threatened to withhold $1 billion from Ukraine if it didn’t fire prosecutor general Viktor Shokin. But there’s no evidence Biden did this to shield his son from scrutiny.
Kurt Volker, Trump’s envoy to Ukraine, has testified that Giuliani said that official Ukrainian statements against corruption were insufficient unless they specifically mentioned the investigations touching on the Bidens and on the 2016 campaign.
“So they made some genuine substantial changes institutionally and with people. But … there’s now some backsliding.” (Biden had boasted about this episode in an interview in Aug. 2016.)

“The United States and other Western nations had for months called for the ousting of Mr. Shokin, who was widely criticized for turning a blind eye to corrupt practice,” the New York Times reported at the time.

Steven Pifer is a career foreign service officer who was ambassador to Ukraine under President Bill Clinton and deputy assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian Affairs under President George W. Bush. He told PolitiFact that “virtually everyone” he knew in the U.S. government “felt that Shokin was not doing his job and should be fired. As far as I can recall, they all concurred with the vice president telling Poroshenko that the U.S. government would not extend the $1 billion loan guarantee to Ukraine until Shokin was removed from office.”

As for Jason Trump has been impeached, he now cant be pardoned for these crimes ,unless someone changes the constitution. End of story, tough luck, how sad.

Regardless of whether a sitting president can be indicted and convicted on such criminal charges, Trump will become liable to them at some point.
But could he be pardoned, as Gerald Ford pardoned Richard Nixon 45 years ago?
Article II, section 2 of the Constitution gives a president the power to pardon anyone who has been convicted of offenses against the United States, with one exception: "In Cases of Impeachment."
If Trump is impeached by the House, he can never be pardoned for these crimes. He cannot pardon himself (it's dubious that a president has this self-pardoning power in any event), and he cannot be pardoned by a future president.
After that, he will be quite literally unpardonable.

I notice that this video was conveniently ignored when it was posted a few pages ago - so I'll give it another airing.

Now how is this admission by Joe Biden (presumably acting on behalf of the Obama administration) any different to what the Democrats are accusing Trump of?

There was good reason it was ignored.

I'll try and make it simple. Quid pro quo deals pretty much form the basis of foreign policy for all nations. You do this for us, we'll do this for you. It happens all the time.

Trumps was, do this for me or else...

Can you spot the difference?

And, "I said sack him or you won't get your billion dollars.", is completely different. Troll play started early eh. Yes, they scratch each others backs and bully the shit out of each other every chance they get, as well as lining each others pockets were practicable and various other other things that fly in the face of being a human being. Arguing over who is the worst when both wings same bird has been historically proven to be true to this date etc... is pretty fuckin' stupid.

There is a question mark over why Trump is there. Why such a politically "violent" reaction to something that quite clearly both sides are doing and all sides have done. That Bush and Blair are walking around as free men astounds me and shows just how bent things can become. We're either in the process of such things being addressed, and Trump is the face, OR, we're in the middle of the same old games.

Yes, both sides look like fuckin' nightmares on paper, but let's see what happens, because the Dems have started down a road they may well have been led to by those promoting Trump. It could be the "game", but given the shit that has taken place, I'd say since Bush and Blair or even Thatcher and Reagan etc... but it goes back further than that, but given that this shit does take place under the watch of "honest" people who do lay their lives on the line for the antics that their, and other's, country(s) deems fit to pull, and given that they have access to the tools to find out what's actually going on because they actually do the job too, and given, fark, the list of reasons to shit the nonsense down is almost endless..., then it is quite possible that there's something else coming down the tubes.

Trump is the weirdest choice of President ever. There is a reason for that. Such things do not happen by accident. Either you're witnessing an epic battle that you'll see in the movies in 10 years time, or it's another sideshow and we'll be here in 10 years time still lying to ourselves. I reckon there's a bit of a fight going on, and the "bad" guys and fed up with the badder guys.

Great post. In the last day or so I have been thinking along similar lines regarding how the likes of Bush and Blair are still walking around free. I'm coming to the realization that Trump will likely never answer for his crimes, tax fraud, blackmail etc. Simply because to do so would have the powers that be admitting that the system is deeply flawed - and we cannot have that can we. Trump is a weird choice, but he is setting presidents that those following will do as well. Can't see anyone ever obeying a subpoena from the oversight committee ever again. And when the dems get back in, when ever that may be - the republicans will be howling with rage that the dems are pulling "a Trump". One big farcical pantomime the whole thing.

Trump is small biccies in many ways. One thought I do find amusing though, is that Trump's supposed behaviour is pretty common place when considering the business and social environment that he has operated in over the years. This is evidenced by him not being enclosed by bars, cough cough Blair Bush cough cough. As such, most of what we consider naughty isn't frowned upon by those who it is normalised for... or at the very least have fuckloads of money and/or great lawyers and/or powerful friends who know almost everything about everyone, because they have access to the database to get the dirt they need to apply the requisite pressure blah blah blah. Yeah, whilst it is pantomime stuff, it's actually being played out in front of us, us commenting proving that very thing. Sometimes you have to fight fire with fire, and I reckon Trump is that fire. A perfect fit when you consider his length of service in and around that pantomime.

Actually Jason has it wrong. Again. Hillary got more votes than Trump so she was demonstrably more popular. Although getting three million more votes than the least popular candidate ever isn't much to crow about.

Since Rudy Giuliani seems to be feeding Trump unhinged conspiracy theories people are interested in what Rudy is thinking. There is an interesting interview in New Yorker magazine:

http://nymag.com/intelligencer/2019/12/a-conversation-with-rudy-giuliani-over-bloody-marys.html

This morning, our time, Giuliani appeared on Facebook. His page attracted instant interest because it proclaimed he was a government employee, nobody knew about that, and that he was a former Attorney General of the USA, which was also a well kept secret.

I've just arrived home from Christmas dinner and on checking, his page no longer claims he is a government employee, and it has been amended to read Associate AG.

So he had a bt of bother setting up a Facebook page, he's ancient after all, but he's Trump's cyber security tzar. He's in charge of all "the cyber". Good luck with that.

Consider that both sides have the same dirt on Graham. One side has been using it to leverage his position and the other has just recently gotten a hold of it and know that he has been leveraged. I do wonder, when impeachment starts proper, just how many will throw themselves onto their swords for the greater good given that both sides know what each other knows and who has a track record of "being open to suggestion" etc... One things for sure, there's something else going on outwith the finger pointing of who's less dirty.

Quid pro OH NO!!

https://youtu.be/hvEQ7G6Wk9k

He says it himself. “If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money.”

The prosecutor Biden demanded be fired was investigating Burisma – the energy company his son Hunter had an $83,000 a month job working for.

That is the very definition of quid pro quo. Demanding an action be taken in return for something else.

In this case, it was $1 billion in humanitarian aid would be released to Ukraine if and only if the prosecutor investigating Burisma was fired.

Joe Biden with held humanitarian aid for an investigator to be fired who was investigating the company his son worked for. That is the fact. It is not debunked. It is a fact.

husaberg
25th December 2019, 20:03
I see Santa also gave you no common sense again this year plus some more paranoia as well.

"Senior U.S. District Judge Rosemary Collyer, Presiding Judge of the U.S. Foreign Surveillance Court, on April 26, 2017, ordered U.S. intelligence agencies to destroy evidence of illegal domestic surveillance collected on and before March 17, 2017, the exact date on which “The American Report” published the first full-length report revealing John Brennan and James Clapper’s use of “THE HAMMER” to wiretap Donald Trump.

Nearly two weeks earlier, on March 4, 2017, The American Report became the first and only media organization to connect President Trump’s March 4, 2017 tweet accusing President Obama of wiretapping Trump Tower to secretly-recorded audio from the Whistleblower Tapes revealing that Brennan and Clapper wiretapped Donald Trump."

So basically Trump claimed that Obama had wiretapped him and the next day this FISA judge ordered all Electronic monitoring by the HAMMER to be deleted...

What is an appropriate penalty for a judge to participate in the destruction of evidence proving the existence of illegal spying by an outgoing administration?

Im surprised he has 14k per month left over after the all the hookers, blow and baby mumma costs.

And given the evidence in the Epstein episode any DEM getting what appears to be free mansions should be fully investigated. I would hardly take any realty webite as gospill even if it appears legit given Hunters history of blatantly obvious money laundering and corruption. I dont recall trump ever calling Russia tody fake news even though its a widely know propaganda channel controlled directly by the Russian government.

RT's editor-in-chief compared it with the Russian Army and Defence Ministry, and talked about it "waging the information war against the entire Western world."

Vladimir Putin visited the new RT broadcasting centre in June 2013 and stated "When we designed this project back in 2005 Certainly the channel is funded by the government, so it cannot help but reflect the Russian government's official position on the events in our country and in the rest of the world one way or another.

we know he like One America and that has a russian on the payroll of the Kremlin’s official propaganda outlet, Sputnik.

Sputnik formerly The Voice of Russia and RIA Novosti) is a news agency, news website platform and radio broadcast service established by the Russian government-owned news agency Rossiya Segodnya. Headquartered in Moscow, Sputnik has regional editorial offices in Washington, Cairo, Beijing, Paris, Berlin, London, India and Edinburgh. Sputnik focuses on global politics and economics and targets an international audience.
According to The New York Times Sputnik engages in deliberate disinformation, and has often been described as a Russian propaganda outlet. In early 2019, CNN Business reported that Facebook had taken down hundreds of pages on its social media platform which passed as independent news sites but were in fact run by Sputnik employees.

This is the world we live in now. Jordie got kicked out of a cricket ground for skulling a beer back.

WTF is going on seriously? I see the NZ media suggesting the Aussies have targeted him because he's an AB which makes way more sense than anything else.

Why do people even bother going to the cricket if this is how the authorities are acting now? Whats the point??

Trump seems to have bullied Treasury into doing some 'quantitative easing' which is artificially inflating the economy.

In fact, the ONLY 3 PERIODS of extended unified Republican governments going back to 1900 ALL DIRECTLY led to banking crises….Arguably the 3 worst in US History. To be clear, I am defining ‘extended’ unified governments as anytime they control the House, Senate and White house for at least 4 years

The list of Unified Republican Government crises include the Panic of 1907, The Great Depression, and the Financial Crisis of 2007-2008. Interestingly, the record of extended Republican control of Congress has also only led to crises. There have only been 4 periods of extended Republican control of Congress (3 of which overlap with the periods of full unified control just mentioned). However, the 4th period (I KID YOU NOT) ended in the 2000 DotCom Bust where the Republicans controlled the House and Senate from 1995-2001.

I note that some of the people in the US who wrote negatively about the Sergeant killed in Niger have apologised. I find it interesting that the right wingers quote the Mueller investigation as a failure, when in fact multiple arrests and convictions were secured. The Russian interference was verified. These people then go wandering down the fox/whitehouse talking points avenue. Mueller could not have made it any clearer. 10 counts of obstruction from Trump alone and the only reason he was not charged by , is because the DOJ made it clear that a sitting president cannot be charged as such. So Mueller put in a road map for the Dems. Who then completely incompetently fucked it up. (seriously, they are a complete joke)
Same goes for this Ukraine thing. If a left sitting president pulled the same shit Trump did, then the right would be up in arms saying impeach that mofo. That is the sham, each side posturing and exclaiming outrage, when BOTH side pull the same shit.

I find it interesting that the right wingers quote the Mueller investigation as a failure, when in fact multiple arrests and convictions were secured. The Russian interference was verified. [QUOTE]

There was continuous collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian oligarchs. Mueller said he could not establish conspiracy with the Russian Government. By which he meant he couldn't prove it in court. The Russians were mainly mates of Putin, you can't be an oligarch and not be, but OK, convincing a jury is complicated.

Mueller basically said Junior wasn't prosecuted because he was too stupid. Normally we understand that ignorance of the law is no excuse. In some areas of the law in the US though, it's necessary to prove intent. Election law is one such, and Mueller said he couldn't prove that Junior knew what he was doing.

That thing about not prosecuting a sitting president is only an opinion from the Office of Legal Counsel (OLC). The thought was that the president is too busy to be tied up in court. Of course that was normal presidents who actually went to work before 11.00AM. The OLC is part of the Justice Dept normally occupied with checking that new laws being passed are not in conflict with existing laws. These days a lot of their time is taken up with trying to explain why the latest illegal shit Trump is doing is not illegal. That opinion could be changed, but not while Barr runs the Justice Dept.

[QUOTE=sugilite;1131149922] So Mueller put in a road map for the Dems. Who then completely incompetently fucked it up. [QUOTE]

Impeachment is not a one time thing. It's highly likely more Trump crimes will come to light and the Dems can impeach him again. They can use the 10 obstruction charges any time they like.
Like you I was surprised they didn't do that already, but apparently they are currently going for simplicity.

One interesting legal theory is that Trump's pardon power is now restricted or gone completely. Impeachment drastically reduces the presidents power in that regard. Some of his mates currently in cells may be sweating that one.

[QUOTE=sugilite;1131149922] If a left sitting president pulled the same shit Trump did, then the right would be up in arms saying impeach that mofo.

It's interesting looking at the old clips of Miss Lindsey and Moscow Mitch demanding impeachment when the president was Bill Clinton. And that was only for lying about a blow job. Now that it's Trump the shoe is completely on the other foot. No vestige of logic at all, they should be embarrassed. They can't really be thanking Trump for putting them in that position.

I find it less objectionable if the local government spies on me illegally than I do foreign governments getting to do so legally. There is something ever so slightly wrong about the legal status of those positions. It puts too much leverage in the hands of other countries in exactly the same way as it put too much leverage in the hands of Obama... as well as all of those who came before him, coz spies used to exist in governments for that very reason. And instead of an army protecting resources (control of food/water supply was (is) a method of control by warfare), all you need these days is 1 dude and a computer. What we're seeing is the digital version of acts that have been taking place under all governments, and businesses, since they figured out that infiltration = knowledge/information. Weird that your local government can't spy on you but the rest of the world is legally entitled to innit....

A bit of reflection https://www.statedepartmentwatch.org/2019/05/21/obamas-illegal-spying-on-americans-labeled-operation-hammer-will-soon-be-exposed/ it appears Aunty Maxine knows all.

Obama is like Ghislane Maxwell. He lawyered up hardcore about 2 years ago when he realized he'd been busted back then.

Nothings going to happen with either of them imo. Ghislane like Obama knows to many people and has dirt on all of them.

Ghislane might meet a similar end to her father though..... if she missteps.

I think your the one thats confused.

That crowd that attacked were an Iranian backed militia.

They and some of the clowns in the democrat party (disgusting pigs were practically cheering them on) thought they were going to get another benghazi or black hawk down type scenario. Which is the only reason this has become news imo.... Not on Trumps watch suckas!

Those fools would of got dusted by Apache's and all kinds of other heavy equipment if they really tried it.

On top of the above I would go as far as to say this and alot of other happenings involving Iran are a deepstate instigated attack at the behest of the likes of Obama, Kerry and co.

"Hadi al-Amiri has been identified as one of the leaders behind the attack on the U.S. embassy in Baghdad.

Moreover, the Iranian militia leader was invited to the White House in 2011 during the presidency of Barack Obama, Fox News and The Washington Times reported."

It was determined well before that.

yeah about a month after it happened I saw people who had gone over the metadata say outright that it was impossible for a "russian hackor" to of done it because its clear from the data they saw that it was downloaded on site on to a thumb drive or similar and then sent to wikileaks via Kim dotcoms megaupload.

The only reason the other narrative came about is the dems trying to cover their tracks. They literally pinned it on a "Ukranian hacker called guccifer " and sent all the data to him in an attempt to change the narrative which of course the frauds in the MSM (as well as scumbags in the intel agencies who pulled strings to make it look semi legit) just went along with to cover for the DNC.

The evidence to prove this was all well established not long after the fact.

And I said three years three years circa mid 2016 when Sethrich was killed is around when it all went down. And the above was practically public knowledge for the people that were paying attention.

Because of the sheer size and scope of the corruption and treason.

It could take a decade to sort it all out.

Roy Cohn

Known as one of New York’s most ferocious and cold-hearted lawyers, Roy Cohn worked for U.S. Sen. Joseph McCarthy, a slew of New York city mobsters, such as members of the Genovese crime family – and Trump. Cohn became Trump’s attorney in the 1970s, and it has been reported that the pair spoke on the phone as frequently as five times per day, while working together.

Many of Cohn’s mob-connected clients also controlled a large portion of New York City’s construction unions. Trump employed construction companies run by mafiosos Anthony “Fat Tony” Salerno and Paul Castellano to build his Trump Plaza and Trump Tower apartment buildings.

House Wreckers Union Local 95

The union, run mainly by the Genovese crime family, hired a large swath of nonunion, undocumented Polish and South Korean demolition workers to work alongside its union members. Trump used Local 95’s undocumented workers in 1979 to demolish the Bonwit Teller department store in order to make way for Trump Tower.

Trump denied knowing that he had employed undocumented workers, but was nevertheless fined $325,000 on the grounds of partipacting in a conspiracy to violate a fiduciary duty, in 1991. Though, the case was settled in negotiations and an agreement was sealed – so it’s unclear how much of the fine Trump actually paid.

John Staluppi

Trump created his first name-licensing deal with a luxury limo rental company owned by John Staluppi, a “made” member of the Colombo crime family in 1988, according to Newsweek.

Daniel Sullivan

A large, gregarious man, with a criminal record and ties to the Mafia, Daniel Sullivan began working for Trump as a “labor consultant.” Later, the pair operated a drywall manufacturing business together that was connected to a racketeering scheme involving the carpenters' union and the Genovese crime family.
Sullivan also introduced Trump to Kenneth Shapiro, who worked for Philadelphia mobster Nicodemo "Little Nicky" Scarfo as their financier and agent, which he and Trump entered into an Atlantic City land-leasing deal with.
After Trump was advised that Sullivan would hurt his ability to secure a casino license, by the New Jersey's Gaming Enforcement agency, Trump cut ties with Sullivan – though, the two still kept in contact. Trump later offered Sullivan the position of chief labor negotiator at his organization, according to his former “consultant.”

Robert LiButti

Trump denied knowing racehorse trader and high-rolling gambler, Robert LiButti, who is said to have had ties to John Gotti, when probed by the Philadelphia Inquirer in 1991. But LiButti’s daughter, Edith Creamer, told Yahoo News in 2016 that is simply not true, and that Trump knew very well who her father was, and that she and her father had both flown with Trump in his helicopter. It was also reported that Trump took an interest in LiButti’s daughter, prompting the high-roller to threaten the future president to stay away, or suffer the loss of his, uh, crown jewels, so to speak. Even more damning, there’s a video of LiButti and Trump attending the “WrestleMania IV” event together in 1988.

Trump almost bought a $500,000 racehorse from LiButti, but backed out at the last minute, according to Yahoo, and once personally handed the alleged mob affiliate a $350,000 check while he was gambling at a craps table in Trump’s casino.

Michael Cohen & Felix Sater

Cohen’s uncle, Morton Levine, ran Brooklyn social club El Caribe, which was frequented by members of Italian-American and Russian-American organized crime families in the 1970s and 1980s. Leaders of the Russian mob, Evsei Agron and Marat Balagula, were known for using the club as their personal office and handled their “business” there for years.

Cohen also has close ties with Felix Sater, a Russian-born investor, connected to both the New York and Russian mafia, whom Cohen has known since childhood. Sater’s father was also "a reputed capo in the Mogilevich organized crime syndicate," Talking Points Memo reported in 2018. Despite his mob connections, Sater is also said to have been an informant for the Federal Bureau of Investigations and an asset for the Central Intelligence Agency.

Once a stockbroker, Sater lost his license in the 1990s for participating in a mob-linked plot to inflate marginal stocks and unload them onto unsuspecting investors and hiding the profits abroad, The Wall Street Journal reported in 2016. The former broker was convicted of racketeering and sentenced to prison. He also spent time in prison, for slamming the stem of a martini glass into a man’s face during a bar fight.

The former attorney worked with Sater on a Trump Tower deal in Moscow, while Trump was on the campaign in 2015.Though, Trump has denied knowing Sater in the past, there is conclusive evidence that he worked for the Trump Organization as a broker for years. In emails to Cohen, Sater boasted about having ties to Russian President Vladamir Putin, saying that he would solidify the real estate deal in Russia that Trump’s organization was pursuing with the president’s help – and help secure Trump the presidency. There is no evidence that Sater ever delivered on his promises. The Trump Tower Moscow deal eventually fizzled out and since the news of Sater’s involvement in Trump’s Russia dealings emerged he has practically vanished from the public eye.

Other than as Pritch said the Australian government.

The documents, obtained by News Corp, show the Kern/Trump group was one of three deemed “dangerous” by the police board. “Briefly stated, the Police Board considers that HKMS, Federal/Resorts/Sabemo, Kern/Trump, are unacceptable,” the summary of the police report said.
“Atlantic City would be a dubious model for Sydney and in our judgment, the Trump mafia connections should exclude the Kern/Trump consortium,” a summary of the police board’s report said.
The cabinet papers also show there were doubts about the viability of the Kern/Trump bid. A report prepared by the independent contractor, the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, found the Kern/Trump bid was one of two that were “not financially viable”.

Because the corruption im talking about is far more serious than a handful of mobsters running casinos.

If those Australians were so worried about Trumps mob connections they wouldnt of given the clinton Foundation over 100million dollars for nothing either..... But they still did.

Just remember our government also gave the clinton foundation over 25mill of taxpayer money.... What for??

It will be going through the justice system over there (and probably around the world if even half of it comes out) for over 10 years.

Trump wont have to do much of anything from here on out just stock up on popcorn and watch the show. All the evidence is practically freely available.

Notice how the heads of mi5 and 6 (among others) have been swapped out multiple times now since 2016? What do they have to fear?? (Hint: They helped spy on a president elect of the USA)

He cant win by himself on his own merits. hence Yokels incessant need to smear others.

It is no longer a matter of dispute that the president of the United States pressures foreign governments to investigate his political rivals. He does this by telephone (https://www.lawfareblog.com/self-impeaching-trump-zelensky-conversation). He does this by dispatching henchmen. He does this out loud, on camera (https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2019/10/3/20896926/trump-china-biden-ukraine-impeachment-pool-october). And his underlings do this, in shockingly explicit language, by text message (https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2019/10/4/20898215/trump-text-messages-ukraine-impeachment).
Trump has been impeached by the House for these serial abuses of power, though whether he will be forced from office depends on whether his Republican enablers choose to hold him accountable, or continue to flout their constitutional duties.

But hiding in plain sight here is the question of why Trump keeps begging foreign governments to interfere in our elections. What does he want?

The answer, of course, is dirt. Or the appearance of dirt, anyway. Because Trump’s only real “strategy” as a political actor is to smear his opponents. This was obvious before he even announced his candidacy, with his racist birther claims against Obama, and it only grew more flagrant during the primaries. Rather than coherent policies, Trump specialized in unhinged attacks on his rivals and juvenile nicknames (you’ll recall, "Lyin Ted," "Little Marco” et al).

It can be easy to overlook this amid his daily displays of venality. But the truth is that Donald Trump cannot win an election on his own merits. He’s too corrupt, too lazy, too divisive, too bigoted and too inept.

[Trump's] speeches amount to a laundry list of grievances, smears and fear tactics meant to whip up his super fans.
Back in 2016, he was able to eke out an electoral college win — despite losing the popular vote by 2.8 million votes — mostly by smearing Hillary Clinton. He had considerable help from Russians hackers, and (just as crucially) from a scandal-driven media that paid more attention to Clinton’s emails than her actual policy proposals.

It was possible, back then, for Trump voters to tell themselves that he really was going to drain the swamp in Washington and build a border wall, paid for by Mexico.
Nearly three years later, the very idea of Trump running on his record is inconceivable. His signature “achievement” is that he inherited a booming economy, which he has juiced by giving massive tax cuts to corporations and CEOs, and by deregulating our most lethal industries. To the delight of affluent CEOs and evangelicals — and with the eager help of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell — he has stocked the judiciary branch with judges who are anti-abortion, anti-civil rights and staunchly pro-business.

But thanks in large part to his foolish trade wars, the economy is slowing down, and his glib promises about renewing manufacturing are worth about as much as a diploma from Trump University. His foreign policy, which consists of cozying up to dictators and bullying allies for political gain, has reduced the United States from a superpower to a global laughingstock.

Its kinda funny if im honest Trump just owned them.

Will it be funny if Trump starts the war and countless American lives are lost, countless Iranian civilians who get no say in it get killed?
Since when has ANY war in the middle East worked out well for anyone?
What has America truly achieved in all their middle east meddling? Has it been worth the loss of so many American lives. I say hell no.

Smack them up with shit tons of surgical drone strikes by all means. By all accounts that I read yesterday, that General was a nasty piece of work.
But for fucks sake USA, don't send your young guys in to their deaths for no real reason worth dying for.
If the pollies and war monger corpralists want to fight, send those cunts to the front line, see how long their taste for war lasts then.

Oldriders last twitter post link was not far off the mark either.

I just LMAO at you hysterical idiots.

What exactly is Iran going to do? They got caught red handed.

Any escalation and they are going to get bombed back to the stone age where they deserve to be.

They cant do shit all they might do is try kidnap some americans or similar from somewhere or try block the straights or something similar. They know they cant beat the US in a major confrontation.

For all the talk they would get crushed just the same as Iraq.

They will talk some more shit but in the end:

Nothings going to happen. Trump is not a warmonger like the others he's just settling scores with them.

I'm not being hysterical whatsoever. Just look at VERY recent history of the USA going to war in the Middle East.
You are showing your pure ignorance in thinking that it will be Iran that will somehow be the ones to dictate the terms as to if there will be a war or not.
You view it all as some sort of fun video game to commentate on. As if it is some sort of glorious poke in the eye for the left and the important part of it all is how will they spin it.
Bet if you were sent to war, you would be wishing your daddy could give you a temp case of bone spurs.

History? The muslims have been at war for 1400 years!! The USA did not exist then!

Iran is not like other Middle Eastern nations. They have a modern airforce, a large and well equiped army, they have submarines, ballistic missiles, and they are current with cyber warfare.

Both Bush and Obama considered an attack on Soleimani, who certainly earned the attention, but ultimately they decided that the risks outweighed the benefits. Trump doesn't actually 'consider' anything, he acts on impulse.

The Pentagon will be working on an escalating sequence of responses should Iran retaliate, but the White House Defence positions are vacant or filled by unqualified, inexperienced people. Good advice is not available, even in the unlikely event Trump wished to seek it.

With Trump there's a tweet for everything, there are a series of tweets accusing Obama of starting a war with Iran to save his presidency. Given that it's only Congress has the power to declare war, it's possible that the idiot in chief has committed another impeachable offence.

Only three presidents have been impeached, Trump could be the first to be impeached three times.

Anybody advocating war with Iran should head to the USA. Join up or shut up.

If the iranian people are smart they will overthrow their muslim dictator overlords and take a step back to the 70's when they were a normal nation without an axe to grind.

That imo is Iran's only way out of all this. Eventually the USA will take them out one way or another. But it wont be under Trump.

VP Mike Pence has been on Twitter. He invoked 9/11 - of course. He says Suleimani assisted the hijackers.

Suleimani allegedly, "Assisted in the clandestine travel to Afghanistan of 10 of the 12 terrorists who carried out the September 11 terrorist attacks in the United States."

You will all instantly realise that there were nineteen hijackers not 12.
Which makes you better informed than the Vice President of the United States, and that is a worry.

Those who are aware of Middle East politics to even a basic level may wonder why a Shia representative of a theocratic state would assist Sunni terrorists. They hate each other. Mike Pence though is unworried by such anomalies.

I think it's safe to assume the representatives of Trump's administration are full of shit.

A Modern Air Force?!?!

No.

They have a few MIG 29s, a few Tomcats (Nice Aircraft but Obsolete, and without the Pheonix missile, not really much of a threat), F4 Phantoms (Vietnam....)

So No.

In fact, Iraq in the first Gulf War lost nearly as many MIGs as the Iranians currently have - Remind me again how well the Iraqi armed forces stood up.

The thought occurs that most of us know little of Iran and I was there but very briefly, just long enough to stick another pin on the map.

I've been following the travel blog "Itchy Boots" on YouTube, this series has been mentioned elsewhere on KB. In Series 1 Epsode 53 she crosses into Iran, the following few episodes detail her contacts with the people which are generally pleasant. The locals were exceptionally helpful when she struck mechanical problems. A marked contrast to what little we see the press which is generally negative.

I agree actually. I think many of the Iranian people are probably fine (yet Golriz who we have here is not a shining example imo). Its these scumbags they have running the country that are the problem.

Trump sums it up brilliantly all round here actually.

"We took action last night to stop a war, not to start a war."

The 1970's period you mention was when the USA had installed their puppet Shah. So hardly normal for Iran.
The fact that the USA had installed the very unpopular Shah is what gave the Iranian people the axe to grind. (in modern times context)
So, ummm Austin, who is misreading the situation?
Btw, Trump has so many pressure points to push (leaking his tax returns for instance), that the powers that are really in charge - will have few problems forcing Trumps hand when they feel the time is right. Sad but true I'm afraid.

Another pressure point has received attention in the last day or so.

No US banks will deal with Trump, he is regarded as a bad risk, Deutsche Bank alone have been prepared to take that risk. Trump has defaulted on multiple Deutsche Bank loans. He also sued the bank. That history would not bode well for a future loan from Deutsche Bank, yet strangely they subsequently loaned him another 750 million dollars. This puzzled people who usually know about such things because that is seriously unusual banking behaviour. In 2016 it attracted the attention of the bank's board who ordered a report into the bank's business with Trump. It has also attracted the attention of the Attorney General of New York.

We have read previously the suggestion that this most recent loan was guaranteed by Russian oligarchs but apparently that is not quite right. A former Deutsche Bank employee now says that the 750 million was actually a loan from the Russian state bank, it was just funnelled through Deutsche Bank. Somewhat in the manner of a(nother) money laundering operation.

This is interesting because a presidential candidate not declaring a loan from the Russian government would be a serious impeachable offence. Yes, yet another one.

Perhaps that's why he phoned Putin to ask permission to assassinate an Iranian before he asked Congress?

No wonder Trump is trying to block access to his financial records.

Agreed, not much of an airforce really. But if it came to a boots on the ground conflict, I still would not like to be an American soldier there for what exactly? Certainly nothing worth dying for.

You mentioned a while back that Greta Thunbergs parents encouraged her into activism - interesting to read a article with actual quotes from her parents on said subject.
https://www.stuff.co.nz/environment/climate-news/118528173/greta-thunbergs-parents-were-against-her-climate-activism
Not saying she is not fair game for her activism activities, just more so it does not appear based on her parents quotes that they were behind it.
So many articles from so called journalists from all sides just printing shit that they feel will get a reaction - truth be dammed.

Yep, exactly what I was alluding too Pritch. Austin and Austin 2.0 will struggle with the concept of when a business man is denied funds, they will take what they can get from where ever they can get it just to stay afloat. And Trump was certainly undeniably in that position. So logically, if course that is would likely be the main reason he is soooo desperate to keep his tax records hidden. His position would be rendered untenable were they to be released - and he and his confides know it.
