Pretty much what I was thinking, pouring over $20 grand and having to wait that long, tell em you'll willingly pick the part up in Japan on Monday, they pick up the tab though. If it has happened in the USA as well why haven't they a couple of parts here, just in case. You usually get the odd teething problem with a new model.

Yeah I reckon mate, if a bike develops a well known fault I see absolutely no reason why the main parts centres for the bike manufacturers cant at least have one of said part in stock on standby. That part that Yod waited for for so long was a well known fault and is pretty much a given that it would at some stage fail (from what I understand) on most RF Suzuki's so why not have the part in stock at the main parts centres for immeadiate dispatch and then re-stock?

Decided to let 86 go play without the blue beast providing distraction :innocent:
We have finally decided that Greens Road needs a proper warm up:soon:
Friday 25th April, perhaps we/somebody can suggest a ride and end up here around 4pm for bbq and continue on as far through the weekend as we can all manage:devil2:
Early start so that those with other committments/kids can still drop in and if the weather is good the energetic amongst us can go for a tramp in the woods and to meet Rhapsody and Harmony, the houdini cattle, before 86 kills them with his bare hands (or the chainsaw!!)
Thought we would also then be up for a sunday :ride:or have time to really recover before the working week encroaches:sunny:
Plenty of sleeping space inside and out so bring sleeping bags and tents for when you finally crash:yawn:Address is 72 Greens Road, Kahutewara Valley. Behind Massey, go down old west road and turn onto Kahutewara Valley road, 4k along is Greens road on L, no exit gravel road so please be careful!!!!
We are the second obvious drivewayon the right (immediately next to 68), yellow postbox, go to top of drive and you shall be at the garage and be able to admire SK1PY, GIXXERS and Daytona's sleeping abode

Hehe, naughty guy,but you didn't forget the anniversary did you?Nope you went for a ride so she could enjoy the wonderfull day doing whatever she wanted to do,afterall it was her day,and thus that was your gift to her for the wonderfull years together.Priceless as the add says.

Well done on the anniversary, something to be proud of.:woohoo:
And as a guy you have probably forgotten all of them since day one,so no problem.

Liked the idea of the phone,my brother does the same,he put mums birthday in,but he sent the present on the 6th her birthday was 16th,the phone sent his alert and he forgot it was 10 days early, mum was impressed as she knows I usually tell him a couple of days before.

Yes, a most excellent ride with lots of good roads and company. Dodged a few geese, peacocks, gravel and cowshit, but good to see the trees turning amber and red in time for winter, very nice :sunny:
On the way home after a quick coffee at Meanie's Bassa and I went back through Top grass road, on the way we dodged 4 freakin' hawks!! Was beginning to think them buggers had it in for motorcyclists...

I thought that may have been you at the back of the pack Bonez. I waved to Bazza when I passed him at Cheltenham. I can't believe he was still there when you guys called in. I had hoped to make the ride today after chores, but I was a little late, so decided to take the Mrs out for a ride this afternoon. It looks like you had a good turnout anyway!
Thought perhaps that might be you or maybe Sinfull.

yesterday was blardy freezing .. did you manage to dodge the showers on the way home Sarge or get caught in them as well ?
No, I did'nt get a drop on me but Bassa and I got slightly damp on the way home yesterday but fortunately as soon as I got too the main drag into Vegas it was all good and actually sunny here at home, one hell of a frost this morning though..:cold:

heading over to the bay for the party at mstrs & tarts combined 50th & met the crew coming from up north, south & east .. :D have a good one

hmm & hopefully next weekend might be the last big ride on betsy  ... fingers crossed :innocent:
Hope you enjoy that, should be going too really I guess but bid crowds of strangers are'nt my bag.

Like the idea of naming the stock, makes it easier to eat when in the freezer,i.e after all Als' time rounding em up etc,he can think shit phapsody tastes damn fine bbqed, bet they end up as swapper beasts, with someone elses.

Check out the ambulance run from Wanganui for anzac day for an idea, sounds good.

All depends on what Triumph are you talking about. There been some issues- oil consumption, ECU mapping, warped disks, misaligned hubs, rusty wheels, fuel caps not being able to be removed, broken spokes but I wont tell ;). Not to mention Hinkley are not the Triumph of old thank goodness.

I'm out for Friday as well, got a lot of prep stuff to sort out!

Just a reminder to everyone on this thread and anyone who isn't (if that makes sense) that Sarah and I are finally having that long promised house warming up here on the hill and EVERYONE welcome.

Should be a good nite if the weather plays ball which I'm sure it will. Just bring yourselves, something to put on the barbie, something to drink, and chill out for awhile.

Should be good!

Go approx 4 kms up Kahutawera Valley Rd, turn left onto Greens Rd (gravel) and 2nd driveway on the right. No 72.

Some of the insurance companies seem to forget that if the bike/car is written off you inevetibly buy another,so if they shag you around with the claim, chances are you'll look elsewhere, not only for say the bike, but car, contents and home, when the claim is paid out.

If they come in high on your next bike, give us a yell. I can probably get you a quote through my Mrs (broker) as she's just started a bike scheme. She saved me a fair bit on premiums from last year when I was insured through Kiwibike-Star.

well the plans had been set a month ago .. arrangements made for the horses & hopefully if everything pans out this could be the last "longish" ride on Betsy.

On friday packed the bike & off to Dannivegas were Sugi & I went out for a wee play on one of my favorite roads in the area. Sugi's bike was misbehaving a wee bit (at least Betsy was behaving at that point - more about that later) but oh well if need be can always pillion Sugi home if she packs it in .. so off we venture ..

on the way back & Sugi's bike finally blew her self free of wot ever was hindering her "good performance" so it was time to swap bikes so Betsy could recieve some "Sugi on the road tuning" kinda care .. met back up at the corner & it was obvious Betsy had worked her two stroke magic as sugi was grinning ear to ear. :innocent: he said well she should run better now .. :gob: she sure does .. ahh magic  so we quickly parted ways & I shot out to Sarges for a coffee (thanks John) and a plan was hatched re attending "the BBQ" race back to Sugi's in & outta the shower in record time & off with Moe Awhi to met Sarge at the corner for the taxi service to 86's place

a good nite with the usual suspects & back home in to bed about 1.30 am, with a early start in the morning

sat morn was a beaut day, but a phone call to mstrs warned the weather was pretty shitty in Napier, & since Sugi decided to come along wet weathers were packed, Betsy was all raring to go, but alas Sugi's bike just wanted to stay home :angry2: ... a few swear words later & the plan was for me to ride ahead (no probs that I would not be caught up ) & sure enough coming into danniverke the green beast was tucked in behind me.

quick trip out to highway 50 .. had a few wee spits around Norsewood & wet weathers went on at the intersection where dooly was waiting .. actually it was a pretty good ride to napier all things considered .. its been nearly a yr since i have ridden in the wet so needed to get the feel again.

Arrived at Janet & Johns after a good cuppa & as the weather had cleared, (as requested we brought it with us). Sugi & I had to do a quick flick into Hastings  & made it back out to say hi to the aucks crew that had arrived in our abscence.

A plan was hatched for a wee afternoon pootle & that was just damn great roads & highly enjoyable :2thumbsup

a splendid evening talking the serious stuff, absolute crap & everything in between suited up to ride back to sugi's about 1am.

Now this is where it got interesting & Betsy decided to have a wee moment  so Sugi ended up being my "guiding light" back to his place .. it was a somewhat of a "special" ride and we rocked in to his place at 3.33am this morning and admittedly it really was quite fun, its the stuff memories are made of. Thank you so much Anthony for the weekend & certainly taking care of me coming home, I really appreciated it & you are one of those guys I am proud to call a true friend. pass on my thanks to Moe Awhi as well & we will catch up again soon

So no rush to head off today & a great wee pootle home dodging traffic but I have so enjoyed just being on the bike & having fun .. isn't life grand

27th April 2008, 16:03
