Bride and groom looked like a million dollars together, I managed a bunch of beers before we got there, swore like a sailor in the church when some of the wood oil off the pews rubbed off on my shirt..

Seated at the back of the reception with all the other trouble makers, we were right next to tthe bar :headbang: had loads of rum, and bubbly, and whatever else was given to me, offended some old people, danced patrick swayze style with nearly everyone (the brides friends were absolutely smoking babes), the bride comes running up in the early hours of the morning "gatch gatch ! have you got any condoms?", quick as ever I reply "kelly, your married now, you missed out", smack to the face.. "not for us dick".

Interesting that they are coming through with that angle, as it is a new approach from ACC.
What a croc.
What difference does it make what you ride/drive? If you have a crash and break your back, your going to cost a lot any way, but then, thats why we pay the current levies.

Not paying your rego is just going to result in alot of easy money for police, in fact the gov will probably assign a new task force just for collecting rego money, because it will be like shooting fish in a barrel if we all "made this stand".

We all stand by while the government keep putting all sorts of tax up. It wasnt that long ago they implemented GST, promised us that prices would go down by the GST amount so wouldnt affect the public much. What a crock of shit that was, now they are talking about lifting it up to 15%. Anyone that owns a home has to now pay regonal rates, another new tax introduced about three or so years ago. Where the fuck will it end

I cant put my prices up, if i do i run the risk of losing work Maybe a private ACC is the way to go Competition keeps inflation to a minimum
Government dont have any competition, they just raise taxes and thier own salaries and perks

the problem with privatisation is the overheads though, all the associated legal costs etc, 30% of claims for private or 10% for ACC i read somewhere, so on the whole ACC should be cheaper, as long as you aren't targeted:mad:

I don't think privatization wold work anyway, its just inviting another monopoly for what is essentially a vital service..

So ACC telling lies again to gain public sympathy. Fark them then, more protest action required it seems. I'll be happy to help out, this issue is important!

Likewise. There are so many issues with the current ACC plans it makes ya sick. I can't believe the lies they are getting away with. Been wondering if there is some way that they can be tackled through the legal system?

It's bad enough paying 3 vehicles worth of ACC at the moment but when the bike's rego is going to triple it's ridiculous. Anyone ever seen me riding both my bikes while driving my car? There is certainly no fairness at all with the way the current system works (even before the increases) and the no fault/no blame ideal has been buried and forgotten...

Have a think about this from ACC,assuming(no will)levies rise,2 biker families have options,1)Sell a bike, rego on hold for winter, then rego for 3 months at a time, less income for the bastards,2)means pillioning,3)crash means 2 people injured(or worse) using more funds to rehabilitate.

All I had to do was organise the $$, Insurance, and take the VL to work. I really owe my Boss big time too; he let me go out on work time for the demo. :first:

apiti loop is generally considered; ashhurst -> pohangina east valley road -> apiti -> kimbolton -> cheltenham -> back to feilding/palmy/whatever

sounds like you're doing kimbolton -> rangiwahia -> mangaweka, which is a bloody good run too....great twisties north of kimbolton :woohoo:

if you come from feilding/cheltenham, about half a k after kimbolton you'll see a lookout and then a turnoff to the right, that takes you down to apiti

gatch
6th December 2009, 09:27
Right on, yer we did kimbolton - Mangaweka. :woohoo:

The first 15k of that road is sublime, clean, not very bumpy, no surprise decreasing radius corners, nothing too off camber..

Then we got held up by sheep

http://i553.photobucket.com/albums/jj380/spartanracing/poser/DSCF1975.jpg?t=1260048514

Then the last 10k to Mangaweka got very dirty from all the slips/rain. Was a good ride though, were originally going to go through Pohangina, but that road turns to gravel pretty quick..

Stink one, although you can try and buy it back and do up yourself? I did that with a CBX400, Didn't cost as much as getting another bike would have.

Make sure that you get your own "Pre Accident Valuation" You can get them from any reputable dealer. Insurance Assessors Valuations normally come in on the low side, you should be able to use yours to push theirs up, or make them get a third and apply an average to them all.

The pre-crash valuation less excess and any premiums owing sets the maximum payout. So it's in their interests to estimate the pre-crash value down.

You may be offered the wreck as part of the payout. Obviously the higher the value they place on the wreck the less cash goes with it. Sometimes it's better to take all the cash then buy the wreck back at auction for much less. Main advantage of taking the wreck as part of settlement is that the bike remains registered. If you buy back at auction it will have been written off.

Oh yeah, if you don't take the wreck as settlement then make sure it is de-registered with effect from the date you are paid out. If you don't and the rego lapses you'll be hit up for unpaid rego DAMHIK

I try and keep catastrophic failures to a minimum otherwise the workshop techs get annoyed  so if ya want me to do anything, best keep it simple. Unless its on the CNC mill, that things awesome, and not in the workshop:msn-wink: after hours access FTW

D'ya reckon you could mill me up some frame sliders? I'm imagining a tapered alloy cylinder with a rebated hole and an oversize thread on the inside to take a soft hammer insert. Hang on, even I don't understand that. Let me draw it.

looks like a job for a lathe, not doable on the mill, though the CNC lathe is being recommissioned I think, could pump hundreds of those out using the auto bar feeder

Wouldn't make it tapered, if it impacts on an angle it'll probably bend over and be a cock to remove.. unless you want to use like a 12mm cap screw ?

I made some foot pegs for my buddies rg150 a while ago with some 10mm threaded rod up the center and that bent a treat when he binned it..

would depend on what you are bolting it too as well, if theres fuck all surface itll bend regardless of taper diameter, though I'm unfamiliar with exactly how these bolt on, I understand they go near radiator, and on the end of the axels normally, but dunno how they attach? custom mounting points?

Yeah man good thinking, drill holes right through the chassis and weld in some bosses ? I'd pay someone to do that though :Pokey:

sounds like they make brackets which attach to different point on the frame/engine and you then attach a slider to that, makes sense, but you would need a different bracket for pretty much every bike out there.
Sounds like for the axles they use threaded rod through the hollow ones, or drill and tap into the solid ones. All in all sounds like a lot of work, so Ill just try and keep mine shiny side up!

Hahahahahahahahahaha I got that one once. When we were sorting out the new manawatu threads we had a rides thread for the details only (no discussion) and a discussion thread. I posted my ride detail in the ride thread then posted a link to it in the discussion thread.

Next thing a mod combines the two threads. Then another mod (you know who you are) infracts me for ignoring forum netiquette because now I have two adjacent posts that refer to each other. I asked wtf was going on. Said she'd fix it but then never did :crybaby:

I wish they expired or something. It just wastes space on my User page.

9.8, so bout 16km per L, which isnt too bad. May have to put new tank on the mod list though, as 160-180k range isnt really gonna cut it on some long trips.

Car washed, bike washed, new set of rubber on both ends, suspension set up a bit better to my liking and a fresh warrant so it's good to go for some bigger distances over summer.
