I remeber him having a little trouble at the last scrutineering with some wires hanging under the headlight, dont think that ever changed

Yeah Japanese machines get much maligned for have no character which is a load of shit, it's there you just gotta put a loud pipe on it, I know I harp on it but the FZ1 was a classic example. Standard pipe it was ok but a bit lack lustre, you could hear there was a nice sound trying to get out. Put an Arrow on it and in my humble opinion it's hard up Robertydog's '09 R1 for the best sounding bike i've heard and every time I rode it it bought a smile to my face.. It also changed the character of the bike quite a lot, there was a more aggressive ramp up onto the mid range which was nice for doing powerstands at lower speeds...

203's suck balls and unbalance an otherwise ok rifle.
C9's... now theres my fav! I loved being on the Gun Group and you get seriously fit running across axis' of advance all day!
No one gets to let off as much ammo either, or have everyone else pitch in to dean your weapon.
Now they just need to get realistic and replace the C9 with the more Loggie practical Mk.46 variant! Ditches the vehicle mount - we rarely use it, M16 mag feed - no Loggie has access to an M16/M4 to share mags with so why have the feed?, carry handle - weapons no good without a hand on the pistol grip and its replaced with a bipod for a Steyr style monopod grip, Folding stock for getting into and out of our trucks and working around cam nets, and adds Optic rails for Night duties which is when Logistic Resup Ops happen so kind of essential! and smooths all the F&$@ing edges to stop slicing our hands open when operated under duress. Saving a fair amount of weight and adding practical real world POGUE functionality.
And doesn't it just look sexy as shit!!??
But no... the REMF powers that be wont see reason or practicality

Bloody heck talk about wet land around the provences.Went to Stratford yesterday to surpise dad for dads day, after enjoying fathers day car club ride to Tui brewery,40 odd plus Falcons was impressive.
The drive was good, weather good and almost thinking should've taken bike, but true to form at Eltham starts showery, then rain at Stratford. With dad and his partner raising 240 calves we knew they'd be home, arrive to find the dog and no humans, sure enough they turn up,and I am told to light fire, they'll be in asap.So I do veges(in kitchen what was I thinking)and end up being chef jellymeat for evening. After having a few beers and general bullshit session, the power goes off, typical so put bowl of water on fire grill and have a warm coffee, then power returns(after an hour or so),off to bed and forgetting dads' partner put electric blanket on(well 4km from Egmont National Park Boundary so chilly),so about an hour later think friggin warm, and turn blanket off.
Left this morning and the amount of water was amazing, surface flooding and small slips were rife, got to Turakina and diverted to Marton, more flooding and small slips and home ok.The amount of water is huge to say the least, places had no access to driveways etc.Hope any riders out today arrived safe and sound, was bloody unpleaseant in car at times.

I just got a box full of Prolan (lanolin) products today and I'm going to try it out as a chain lube. Apparently it works real well and lasts for quite some time. We'll see I guess, but it's certainly cheaper than anything in an aerosol.

some disconcerning gentlemen might suggest to not worry about it too much. Limited licences will set you back $1k so if you keep your head down.. dont draw attention to yourself and keep it tidy for 3 months you will be fine.

i had heard it was something like 1K to get. sounds good in theory but im ment to be a pro driver, and the nice law enforcement folk went to the bother of letting my employer know that "one of there drivers wont be doing much driving for the next 3 months" so i dont think ill get away with it.
i gave the Citizens Advice Bureau a call but they wernt much use, the just told me to use google.
so i tried the free lawer service and they just gave me the phone number of a regular lawer.
i was planing on skipping the country in about 3 months anyway so i might as well sell my bike now, use the money to keep my job and remove the temptation of riding it. any takers???

That's gutting mate, have to be very wary about the infringements you get these days involving demerits, even what one would think should be minor carries high demerits. The days of getting three 115kph tickets and still hanging on to your license by the skin of your teeth are over.

I got one a couple of decades ago. Essentially it's a licence that stipulates you can drive from XXam to YYpm within the boundaries of ZZZZZZZ particular area for the purposes of employment, it was arranged through the courts. I expect you'd need to get your employer to come to the party and state that they need you to be able to drive as part of your normal employment tasks, blah, blah, blah
I think it cost about $3-400 back then so I'd hate to think what it'd be now....

I just got a box full of Prolan (lanolin) products today and I'm going to try it out as a chain lube. Apparently it works real well and lasts for quite some time. We'll see I guess, but it's certainly cheaper than anything in an aerosol.
Hmmm, have to check that out..

There is a thread on here spelling out how to apply for a work licence. You will have to wait 28 days before you can get it though. Would not be too much of a deterrant if you simply got one issued the day you lost it in the first place.

Talk to the courts, from what I understand you can apply yourself thru the courts, but one off only. No need for a lawyer, but if it is declined you have to use a lawyer to reapply.
There is no stand-down time, you can apply now.

There is no stand-down when its for Demerit points, you only have a 28day stand-down when its for a disqualification thru the courts.

It would be a death trap.

I shall look at 599cc and less, must be fun and good looking. Fast is not a major [typical Honda owner....] 400cc 4cyls would be heaps quick enough for the time being. GB400 single seat is top of the list, followed by honda CB-1/CB400 and a GSX400.
The the usual, FZR400 [The pretty one], zxr400, GSXR400 [Maybe...if the price is good....]
and I dream of NC29 CBR400RR and NC30 Viffers...

Head work, cams/springs, carb kitted and Moriwoki stainless system [from the bocks, was a fair bit fatter than standard too, and tuned length, ridiculous sound] and that's all I know had been done. It ate the clutch, fast.

I don't think it is actually a V-Tec model, they were later model as far as I am aware.
The V-Tec, if it has it, is the retarded system like the viffer where it will make the change from 8V to 16V.

Bros400 make less power than a spada....

Just the usual checks on a bike plus a quick look to see how bad the damage from it being dropped is, hopefully the radiator is fine and the crank case isn't shagged beyond repair.

choice, so when you gonna have the cb on the road?
managed to find a replacement reg/rect in hamilton (bike busters ftw!) from an MC19, still get fucking warm sometimes so not sure what the story is there, but made it back down, stayed at parents in hb last night but had a mint run through the napier taupo hills getting there.
Still haven't managed to pick it up yet
Make a duct to the heat sink on the reg/rec?

nah, may replace the circuit with something moar awesomer, as i plan to run the exhaust up through there so gotta make it run even cooler. yet to take it apart, but i suspect the reg just burns off all excess energy that the stor puts out and bike doesn't need, not even a little bit ideal!

nah, inside-tail exhaust :sunny: yeh, only for voltage reference though they generally control SCR's (silicon controlled rectifiers) which dissipate the energy, so in theory it'll run colder the more electrical load you have, probly getting about 20% efficiency out of it atm

That's going to be freakin bad arse, excuse the pun.
God I should have known that, it's been a while since I have got to do any decent elec work on a vehicle, just the usual retarded flasher units and stupid gauges  I'll have to get the auto electricians bible back out.

He was absolutely incredible. I watched a few more videos of him, and wow, he had a BIG power deficit. On the back straight at Suzuka he was just getting eaten. What a legend.
Good news, I have a nice supple wad of cash....I will be going to pick that CB400 up in the Hilux ASAP. Bout time I had a bike again isn't it? Has been nearly a whole damn year I think. I'll have time to tidy it up before I am allowed to pilot a vehicle again too.
