Well yesterday was the day, was concerned about the rain during the morning, but test was booked for 2.15pm, so had my fingers crossed.
And yes the sun came out.
Had an asian testing officer who had a good sense of humor. And the best part was he had an intercom/walkie talkie which made the test just flow.
So am on countdown now, 3 months till my full and a new bike for the summer.

I'm off out to the shed to fit my warranty replacement taillight, re-skin my muffler and fit the new Sargent seat:2thumbsup. Then I have a new fuel map to download from that nice man in Opunake, Kerry Wallis. I best go get busy!:woohoo:

Well, I've nearly finished my bike now. I put the decals on the tank last night, so I just have to get down to work this morning and throw a couple of coats of clear on it. I'm still waiting for a side panel and a mirror, as the ones that they sent were wrong.
Not an experience I'm in a hurry to repeat, as I've been finding it more and more difficult to not lose my rag!
I wondered why the mechanic made a point of telling me he was able to install an indicator without removing the tank, until I had to remove it. He lost a rubber mount and obviously knew, however I located it in front of the airbox. They didn't replace the oil filter as requested, but here's the real goody. They installed a new horn to a bracket that's bent 90 degrees.
Anyway, rant over! I've just been telling myself "Hey, they didn't crash your bike".

Well did'nt go down to Castle point yesterday, on the way over to Palmy I had a couple of slippy slides on the frosty roads so thought considering all those sheltered areas on the way through to Masterton could be pretty dangerous we decided going back to the Actrix winter race series round be held at Manfeild would be the better thing to do. I must day it was quite and enjoyable day too, saw some interesting bikes, met some familiar faces and saw some entertaining racing, I particularly like watching Sam Smith race, he's a top racer that guy, particularly for some one so young, very fast!

So you'll be all set for the next track day then Ferris ? Had a bloody good day up taupo yesterday at the motoTT meet !
Small group, 75 in all three groups so was the perfect opportunity to get a bit of tuition !
Latched on to Adrian (one of the line coat lads) and he did two sessions with me in tow ! bloody brilliant i tell ya lol, started off nice and easy for a few laps to show me some lines and then he was off with me on his back wheel (most of the time, still had the odd hickup but had his 10 yr old kwaka under brakes and a lil bit of hp so by the end of it he couldn't shake me) He even had me lapping one or two guys ! Next thing will be getting some steel toes or learning to get the knee down lol
If it wasn't for the fact that i don't enjoy riding in torrential rain i would have stayed another night and shouted the man a beer !
Left home with a full on head cold and froze my arse off fri night getting there but well worth every sneeze in my helmet getting home last night ! Slept bloody well too i can tell ya ! (what was the final score in the rugby by the way lol)

I'm insured with NAC, but knew I was giving up track day cover to save $300 in premiums from my last insurer. It wasn't really a concern, as the last time I was on a race track was in 1983 with an EH Holden S/W and I wasn't racing:laugh:.

For future reference...
""Are you fucking kidding me you plonker"" results in a $30 fine and 10 demerit points and a full check of rego and warrent status.
That put me on 90. Then I was sweating as I came over a rise at 130 to see a cop waiting for me. Got the lock at 126 or something. might have been 124. That was 35 points but a couple of days before 35 had dropped off so put me back on 90. Havent managed to make the magic 100 yet so feeling very lucky.

I thought 10km tolerance but we found out that 53km is fair game in 50km zone.Janine was polite and said the car had cruise control set at 50km(she was on 95 points at time)so she wouldn't exceed 50km,the cop said is it certified(cruise control)?Fucked if I know was reply, and since when is a c/c a fucken wof item, doesn't show on the wof sheet, cop said it is,she pulled out the wof sheet from day earlier when car passed it's wof and asked where is that stated? He still gave her the ticket and a few weeks later she was walking.
When they came for her license she asked to see ID,he had none so she refused to hand it over(within her rights),she phoned the license outfit and they said no worries it is showing disqualified on computer, main reason was for her aside from passport a license is her only photo ID,and license is easy to carry.

I was of the understanding the general allowance was 10%, where I heard that I don't know, to be honest I might have dreamed that one up myself.:D
Were'nt they talking zero tolerance some time in the future? Arsed if I know how the hell they could justify that coz as you say what about speedo error?
Probably expect everyone to travel at 90k to make sure you're under 100.

Nope the car was on Glover Rd which is semi highway road, from Wanganui you guys come down South Rd (Shell garage is on it),then turn right to New Plymouth, when you get to the roundabout the road running from left to right is Glover Rd.There is a school on this road, but is not where she was pinged.Seems the cop was slightly arrogant to her,so she thought wtf not going to get off this so when he replied about the cruise control, and her thoughts re speedo errer, his sarcastic comments pissed her right off,so she thought fuck this why be polite.

I'd like to know the facts about the stationary cameras too. I thought they were self setting based on the average speed of the first vehicles to cross them. I've heard more than one person say they've been flashed at or close to the speed limit, but without infringement issued.

I can recommend it, lord knows how cold I might have got going home from the Chopper ride if I had'nt had that gear on, it was farkin' freezing and I only suffered the cold as much as I did because I finally got wet through in places.
The whole day through up until then I was pretty comfortable.
Man it pissed down all the way home and I was pleasantly surprised how half worn basic Michelin pilot roads went. :niceone:
I'll still be trying either a road 2 or power on the rear next combined with a 2CT power on the front....I can't wait!

I may even look at the Chillout gloves as well, because I only wear summer gloves. It'll be a cold day in hell before I get namby pamby heated grips on my Triumph (:wavey: to Al).

Dropped two of my kids off to Dogsnbikes on the bluebridge this morning to head down south on holiday with thier big brother on the farm only to find the ferries wernt sailing
Had some bacon and eggs on the boat with dogs and left the kids with him, poor bugger his ears will be worn out now they arnt sailing until 9.00 tonight That man deservesd a DB
Had a tosser in his bright yellow hummer with a Harley Davidson sticker on his spare wheel cover playing in traffic, slowing down then speeding up and then take off when we threatened to pass him on the motor way. He took off after a falcon passed him and who did we see pulled over around Mackays crossing.........Yep it was just bueatiful
Nasty and I passed through the M'tu at 1400 today on the way to Napier for Zukins funeral. And yup, it WAS cold. But ... despite all the dire warnings and preparations for the worst, it was a stunning ride. A wet mist tired to unsuccessfully wet the visors at about Shannon and again at Danniverke and other than that, completely dry.
One of those crisp clear cold magic days that just buzz you being on a bike. We partook lunch at the Clydesdale Cafe (as you do) and stopped for a hot drink at Danniverke BP and bumped into BusaJim and MagicFairy, also on their way to Zukin's funeral. Did you all know that adventure bikes are allowed to do 70 through 30kmh roadworks? It's true, this BMW GS1100 did it past us - lucky sods :innocent:
A sad occasion but kind of cool how the camaderie of bikers can shine through any gloom. See you tomorrow.

Sorry to hear you're still unwell. I totally understand what it's like to be laid up and unable to ride  Fingers crossed for a recover quickly.
Insurance decided my VTR was a total loss. I'm okay with that as their pre-crash value is exactly what I paid for it. The wreck will go up for auction in Palmy. I won't be bidding on it. Funny how things change. I've now got my eye on a Triumph. Less aggressive than the VTR. You'd be right in thinking I'm going to dial it back for a while.

Know that feeling re fuel, good I have car and fuel supplied by company, doing round trip 150km daily till we shift to Palmy, would cost around $120 week easy over 5 trips/week.
Was a time the vehicle was on hp and gas was cash, now car/bike is cash/paid and gas is on hp.
