Yeah thanks but they are probably better not to count me in as much as I would love to. I really need to make a good decision rather than a spear of the moment one, thanks for thinking of me. I'm a shocker for impulse buying and my wife will probably divorce me if I said I was getting a new bike at the moment. It was o.k. for me to spend $25,000 on a new car for her, ..... but.:2guns:
I want to get my full in 3months time and stend some time trying a few out and go from there. The ninja is probably their best bet for resale.
No worries, good luck with ya full.

It seems that chap can't handle real power, he gave up on the 14 and obviously the FZ1 was too much for him too, sounds like two cylinders is about his limit. (He traded it on a '05 SuperDuke apparently and traded the 14 on one of those 990cc super enduro KTM thingy's)

New's flash: A dude at work's missus won the Te Manawa bike give-a-way competition and they have the option of either a 650 Ninja or Versus. They're probably leaning towards the Ninja and will more than likely sell. So if anyone is after a brand new 650 at a better than new price...
Darryn ended up getting the Versys. Here it is: http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=225935006

Thanks for the kind thoughts guys, got home tonight, man not having internet for 8 days is like a junkie coming off smack.
As for the pics I was tricked, and only had had the 2 relaxing tablets, still had the iv lines and epidural one to be inserted, wasn't smiling too much then.
Weather was warm and fine inside, apparently outside was COLLLLD,nurses were good, even a couple were into bikes and gave one kb site to look at.
Really good Irish male nurse and this is how frigged the system is,he is leaving to goto Aussie tomorrow,he can't get enough hours/wages for his qualifications here, instead the government has Asian nurses who can barely understand engrish but are cheaper to hire.So here is a guy who teaches the said asians practical inhouse lessons,is so concerned about his patients epidural site that he goes home(1 hour later)after being sure a doctor has checked it out and given it the ok.
Barry can sympathise with you,I can't drive for 4 weeks(asked can I ride, nope)because of aneasthetic and other stuff.
And for all you smokers keep on,if a non smoker like me gets lung cancer, yet dad doesn't and has smoked for 50yrs doesn't have it makes you wonder, mind you he has limited lung capacity lol.
Good to see you had a great run via the Naki and hope you gave Paul heaps at Action, good bastard he is.
Glad to hear you're ok and out of hospital Tony!:doctor: The 4 weeks will pass in no time.
I have to ask Tony. Do you really think an Irish nurse is a good thing?

Shit yes in this case, bloody great guy who was really considerate in his care for patients, and explained everything.
Funny thing is both times I have had male nurses and they are as good as female ones at everything, well not bedbaths lol.The thing with the male nurse is it gives confidence if you think you'll fall they can grab you, small asian nurses don't give that assurance.
4weeks will fly, have only used the bike once in last 6 weeks lol, sorry for Barry 6 months almost like a disqualification.

Would be into a ride or 2 :)
Gave up riding in a group not long ago and left the local club(s), im a 100km/h type slow rider and found all the runs I went on were the scenario where I get left behind and seemingly held up even the 'tail end charlie' and the riders zoom off at great speed, and the ones that I did keep up with all pass on Yellows and I WONT ! So again get left behind LMAO ..... whatever happened to the quiet legal rides the groups used to have ..... so I have gone back to just a couple of us on a quiet casual ride (usually about 400-500km) but if I find a 'group' with the quiet cruise policy I might be tempted to come along.

feilding riders would be exactly what you are looking for. When the weather comes clearer I will post up some ashhurst rides again although they tend to be faster NOONE will complain about waiting. Real good bunch of guys round here.
The Friday night rides in the summer are mint too. Really wide range of bikes on them and no one ever gets left behind.

Had another amazing day today. Kerikeri this time. With the weather system moving in from the north the skies were incredible. The mountains were stunning with the high cloud cover. Unfortunately Hamilton and Auckland were buried so no pics. But got some good ones of the Coro and Great Barrier Island. Descended through the layers into Kerikeri, never flown there before. Great place with friendly parachuting locals and a bit of a trip down memory lane running into Cessna 206 jumpship DAS which I'd flown 10 years ago. Back then it had a standard 230 HP motor in it. Now it's been fitted with a Turbocharged 350 HP monster  and would give our grunty twin a run for it's money!

Right, sounds like there's some interest so lets nail down a time and date, Meanie informs me the Monie has/had bought tickets for Saturday afternoon 5:00 PM but changing is a maybe a possibility.
Perhaps look at Saturday 5:00 PM session to begin with and then go from there. So... who's in?

Here are the first pics of the new Honda V4 1200, claimed to be a new era in motorcycles due to its variable-cylinder engine. While the impressive motor might have you in mind of superbike technology, the V4 is designed as a sports tourer.
This is handy considering that two out of the four cylinders can shut down when less power is required
When exactly is *less* power required on a honda???

I would be in for a wee ride or 2. I too ride at the back. That is all my little bike and I are up to at this stage. The rides these guys go on are great though, someone always waits at each corner for me, or hangs back with me due to my lack of experience. No pressure with this crew at all, they are all Awesome . :2thumbsup

It appears it has some really good features (dunno if i believe the hp claim) but has been seriously beaten with the ugly stick. The can is even worse than the Connie's. Also ride position looks a bit more racy than the Connie - although the rider looked like a midget. A bit too lean forward for a tourer. Shaftees rock - and can wheelie!

Well after watching it i can confirm Transformers 2 is worth watching. not better but as good as the first IMO. You gotta see it on the big screen for the first time
As for the Honda, not bad but yea those pipes look like something off "The mask"
Ordered some new hanndle bars for Monies VFR yesterday, 45mm higher, 10mm wider and 15mm further back than the standard bars and also ordered a new screen thats 100mm higher and has a curved top to keep her warm and toasty. Should turn it into a nice comfy tourer

Quick run down so far,
Mighty extractors that are rather annoying to make. toyota c12a from a jzz30 soarer
I cut down a Nissan silvia intercooler and am making end tanks from panel steel. cooler measures around 70 wide 70 thick and 160 [ i think] tall.
Obviously different jets. May need to fit a fuel pump, not too sure yet.
Modified the spare air box to fit intake pipe. Oil line as mentioned from pressure switch, returns into a custom made oil filler cap using an4 stainless lines [may have to go an6 due to fittings availability, hope not though]
