Excellent night out at the Yeah Right HQ last night. Wishing to avoid the great unwashed we arrived just in time to see Jordan unleashing a whole bagfull of Exponents hits, ahhh the memories

Sat out the next band and caught up with the Woodville crew and talked shit for an hour.

The Feelers put on a great show, these guys just cannot write a bad song. The crowd was good despite the weather and the atmosphere inside the Tui warehouse was A OK! Real good night

You lucky bugger. :oi-grr: We sat in the rain at The Mission for several hours then said F*#% this and headed out through the mud against the tide of people arriving. Then they cancelled it.

Yeah right,we arrived at 12.15 and gates weren't open, waited till 2.00pm to be told due to the rain(doh)we have to shift indoors, friggin hell they had shitloads of warning about weather. The forklifts were going double time trying to shift warehouse out at 12ish,they had finished about 3.00 or so,then told all start at 4.30pm(at 2.00pm),got to 3.00pm to be told it starts at 6.oopm,got updated times and thought stuff this, wet cold time to go.All that was happening was people getting pissed at 2.30ish.gents toilets full of ladies(wtf using mens bogs aint pc,imagine if guys did that).

Sounds like the mission was similar, they had people waiting in the rain for 3 hours and then pulled the pin, they should've done it at noon, they knew the performer wouldn't play, and the excuse was safety, bullshit it was unsafe at noon with the rain,so it sure as shit wasn't going to get better come concert time.

Au contraire my wee doomsayer. You told us all that when you visited didn't ya. That's why we waited til 5.30 before heading over, which was the original plan anyway. If there's one thing I hate, it's waiting around for hours surrounded by hordes of pissed yobo's. There were only two acts I was interested in and that was Jordan and the Feelers. It was perfect timing on our part as we parked on the road right outside and strolled in just in time to catch Jordan. We then sat out the speed metal outfit, who incidentally were quite good, then wandered the short few metres back into the warehouse to really groove to the best kiwi band around. We had a great nite, ya should have come back over! Work smart, not hard, that's my motto

Ditto for the mission, except there was no shelter at all. Cancelling the Mission concert early could have screwed their insurance if the weather picked up. A real bummer for everyone but that's life.

It was a bit of a comedy show though. Had a HB bus hired as an annual thing that arrived there at 1:00pm. in the raian(Not my call). Saw a new side to the Bro's family, a bit like outrageous fortune :Pokey::drinknsin:but without the crime. I am pleased we baled early. Got the caravan home in 2 hours. (30 mins. late)

Gotta feel for both organisers really, great weather up to 2-3 weeks ago for saturdays, then the last couple have been crap, hope it is fine this weekend relay 4 life is on,so that is needing fine weather for all the people involved.

Might have to have a borrow of that if I could. What was the test conditions? Did they say how far they got on each tyre?

The tests were done over two parts.

"We then sent our two test pilots on our 180 mile test loop. This loop covers not only some freeway and city riding for real world impressions but encompasses the gamut of twisty road work in the canyons, from ultra fast and smooth corners to tight gnarly paved goat trails"

"For the track portion of the test, we returned to Buttonwillow Raceway Park's Race #23 Sweeper circuit configuration, a nice combination of fast and slow sections with plenty of bumps to test the tires' compliance, traction and stability. Conditions were near perfect with ambient temps in the 70's and no wind"

I'd be a little surprised if they mentioned any wear rates.

"Wear rates on both street and track were moderate"

Sweet! Be real interested in the list of required bits because $18k is huge money, maybe the front end was tweaked like you suspected, if that's the case then the bill is not so surprising.

Probably not Bonez lol, but the list was comprehensive and VERY detailed. Down to the last nut. And being Triumph, of course those nuts ain't cheap. Which of course, has worked in my favour particulary well.

Speaking of expensive bit's, bit of a shame to see the damage on another Trumpy.

Could have gone either way James. Luckily, I had a full replacement policy, which means just that. Getting the forms in on Monday, so things should start moving real quick now. BTW, the kitchen looks really good with the carpet and lino down

Where is my Dr Phil voice...

Hows that working out for ya?

Side point, you are an experienced rider who can ride, fast if you choose. You know how your bike is going to react.

Encouraging newbie riders who have very few ks under their belt and talking up scraping pegs on the road will result undesirable results.

Better approach would be to let newbies learn at their own pace without the pressure of looking like they are riding fast.

Speaking of the new R1, the latest Motorcycle Trader is RAVING about it. It has a 270-180-90-180 firing order which "achieves a strong pulse at low to mid rpm, together with excellent linearity across the whole rpm range. Legendary 1:1 relationship between the rider's throttle input and the engine's power and torque output to the rear wheel that's the dream objective of every racer. No wonder Valentino chose it!"

I understand why you have that image but it's far from the truth mate, they are a nice bike to ride for sure and much more adept at carving corners than you'd think they have any right to, certainly need to re-calibrate the way you ride on them until you're used to them though, mainly to do with corner entrance and braking I found, there is no getting away from the fact that they are heavy bike but once you get your head around that it's all good.
