I was wondering if that might be the case, the yokes twisted on the forks, if so it will be an easy (lucky) fix, hope thats all it is.
If I was a little closer I would say ride it over here, can if you want but someone closer must have the tools needed to do that simple job, if you dont have any luck let me know and you're welcome to head over here and we'll try to see whats up, just give the bike a good check over to make sure nothing is unsafe or will fail while your riding first.

Damn you.. Why do people organise cool rides when I am working.. This must be the 3rd weekdn this has happend... aarrggghhh

I hope the RF gets real dirty and you have to clean it AGAIN!!!

On another note, got the monster back together this evening. Raised the rear end about 20mm while I was at it... I tell you what, the bike rides completely differnet now... The rear end feels a little firmer but the suspension feels like it should. Re-adjusted the rebound to what Robert Taylor suggested.. Damn he knows his stuff.. The bike turns in real quick now and I don't get ther rear dancing around when leant over... Feels better already..

Will have to sort this ride out again in the future.. My first long ride with 86/bonez and Sarah was out to Akitio beach through Pongaroa... I want to take Kaz out there for a few hours of relaxing in the sun with ice cream etc.... Greta roads and a great beach, I think it will get thrashed over the summer/...

Yep, there's always one here. Starts in Fielding before hitting the back roads to Palmy. Not sure of the date. The Wanganui one is usually worth doing to unless the weather does this: http://banditrider.blogspot.com/2007/11/hard-ride-4-bit-damp.html

Also, a few from around here are talking about going down to do the Wellington one - there's a thread around somewhere about it.

Just got back from Wellie. Really nice ride, took the Gixxer to match the Honda (80's) and apart from being nearly wiped out by a Landcruiser on the Aka's all was good. The Honda hit the 10000 mile mark and pics taken (naturally). Beautiful day down south, no wind, clear skies, and good vibes. God Wellies crowded these days tho. Did the Piecoc and Haywards down and Aka's back. Got back to Palmie and didn't even notice a cop behind me, lights going, beeping his horn, on the way to a job. I was doing 65 and when I finally heard and saw him (bad Gixxer mirrors and earplugs) and pulled over he sped right on past. Wonder what was going on?

Ride tomorrow sounds very tempting, will see how I am in the morning. Knackered now

Had a wee look at Supertramp's handlebar issue tonight. Had to take the R6 for a 'diagnostic test' lol. What a fab bike, really quick and tight. Comfy as and super slick  Bar's should straighten out quite easily, but we'll need to spend a bit of time in daylight getting access to the bolts. Very compactly put together. Really good build quality. Hmmm, wonder what the R1's like......?

I might go for a ride today and get some pies for lunch. Very hard to find a place that sells good curry pies or curry pies at all. Same goes for those Mrs Macs Chilli pies havent seen any for a while now. Proabably just have to settle for Steak and Cheese.

the current pie of the week at the golden tulip is sweet and sour pork....bloody nice

and they quite often do a thai flavour or a curry - worth keeping an eye out

It was a good day for a ride. The weather was mint and pace was good although I couldnt see anything from my postion on the bike. Sometimes I don't feel like the cowboyz include me enough but they did take a photo of the 3 of us together but by the time the camera clicked the cowboyz duo were gone leaving their helmets (pic 1)

After a long ride up to Kawhia and being sat on the whole way I thought it only fair that Mrs Cowboyz and I swapped postions (pic 2) but we couldnt find a helmet that fitted properly. (pic 3).

So I grabbed a smoke (pic 4) and a beer (pic 5) and then considered jumping off the dam to return to the watery depths of home (pic 6) but noticed the keys and took the 9 for a spin while Mr and Mrs Cowboyz werent watching to cheer myself up (pic 7). Just dont tell them.

Cheers

As if he's not such a good bugger already, Sarah and I would like to say a big thank you to Cowboyz for his work today on Sarah's Honda  The clutch has been slipping for awhile so it was into the golf course workshop for a maintenance session. Extremely interesting it was too and the clutch is now not so :buggerd: and will hold up for a few more miles yet! Bonus was I managed to sample the ZX9 while the Daytona said hello to Cowboyz. Good to see a few more of the crew too  Thanks Lance :2thumbsup

Right, looking for a suggestion/s for a date to have this ride?
Should it be in mid to late december or early January or just the next fine saturday or sunday. Just thinking some people who might want to do this ride might need to plan for it so should it be posted in the calendar?

Please if anyone has any ideas/thoughts speak up, would like as many people to join in as possible.

Probably won't do the New Plymouth Toy run (did it one year though) or the Wellington one (did it last year). But does anyone know when both the Wanganui & Palmy ones are on? Must be soon surely.

Also, be prepared - there may be triplets on a ride soon.

palmy one is on the 15 dec departing from fielding town square at 1.00pm,a short ride (1hr?) followed by donating of toys and a sausage sizzle at the awapuni tavern:cool:

At the Mid - Town ( I think ) Motel, we booked a few months ago when we assumed there would be another concert but apparently it was too much of a burden on Wanganui ratepayers.

It seems the council conveniently forgets the money 9000 plus bikers spend in your fair town (couldn't help but get a whinge in ).

So we will be reduced to pub-hopping.

P.S I am concerned at the slander directed towards Tui in certain comments I will advise the folks at the brewery in Mangatainoka tommorrow when I visit their fine establishment ( they may pay you all a visit in the night )

mr and mrs yod are staying in taupo tomorrow night, will be taking a reasonably standard route up there: vinegar hill, then main road all the way (might nip through Spooners Hill Rd at Taihape tho)

on Sunday the plan is to head across to Mangakino, then head towards Te Kuiti on Highway 30 but cut through the Kopaki Rd to Highway 4 and then head south to Taumarunui and carry on all the way down through the paraparas to Wanganui and then home (414km all up)

should be leaving here tomorrow around lunchtime but don't have a specific timetable; no real hurry to get to Taupo and it isn't a long ride.
planning on leaving Taupo around 11-12ish on Sunday (need a bit of a sleep in and a big brekkie)

Toy run was good, weather brilliant, about 300 bikes, went from Hawera to NP and back, pulled out at Hawera as piss up to go to tonight.First time on it,worked last year, awesome feeling as the bikes left, and waving to the kids.

Few nice ranges of bikes, good to sit on 100-110km,but get the odd person passing and slowing down, closing the group up,couple of gn riders annoyed me,forgetting to watch mirrors, then veering left and guys in left having to brake, causing several to brake and chain reaction, was ok most of the time, quickies went passed, usually caught them though, due to traffic or similar.

Neat to see the bikes lined up waiting to go,heaps of them to see.Very impressive to start, great feeling to be part of a worthy cause.:done:

Damn pissed us off we missed you,but we got to start about 10-15 mins till they took off.

The Surf Highway(don't we put cool names for our highways?)is great, from Opunake to NP is good, longish straights then a few twisties, that is part of the itinery I was suggesting if the Manawatu guys stayed in Hawera for the weekend. Will try and get a few to do a run around the coast and up the mountain, great views and coffee so I've been told.

Went and got petrol about 30-40 mins before leaving and did a loop of the town, had I done that 15 mins later would have seen your bikes and called over. You have been too long with Al getting the coffee bit.

Working next weekend so since I had last 2 weeks off the weather has been brilliant, hope I don't jinx it by working.

saturday 86 & I rode to lower hutt for uncle B's seat unveiling, then over to one of his favourite haunts in martinborough (although 86 deviated at top of taka's to have lunch with his mum) while i headed back home via masterton the track ..

sat nite off to my work do .. home about 1.30 am

sunday back up at 6 get organised & meet Monaime & Noel Jones for a nice cruise to wellywood stopped at pram & met Paul n vicki, spider & graham off to mana where wow bikes, bikes & more bikes, the toy ride was excellently run & no drama's or silly riding as far as i could see, end destination queens wharf ..

on the way home could not resist taking Michelle over the paekakariki hill for the first time .. & stopped at the lookout .. ahhh great view like yesterday

good steady ride home & a nana nap was order for the remainder of the afternoon .. catching up after last nite's party

ahh well weather looks like its gonna be great for the next week so a few rides may be in order methinks ..

Quiet weekend at home. Connies youngest sons 21st.

Was assisted in the "fixing" of my bikes with the second youngest grandson, so kept my hand in as it were. Can't wait tell next week though, may even take an arvo off this week to make up for no ride this weekend.

will you be attending the coast to coast and/or toy run in wangavegas ?Most likely coast to coast but not out to beach, most probably cut over to Weber, Wimbleton, Parongahau, Blackhead beach etc etc till I get to Havelock North. Then stay overnight with the folks. Haven't decided the return route yet, but the Napier-Taihapi rd could be on the cards.

I vote number 6 was Lake Waipapa. Yes. Very good roads up there. Mangakino is a bit boring once you get off the bottom end of western access but up through the damn is pretty cool. Back through 8 mile was it?

3 - ...hmmm....tempting.....

didnt do 8 mile, for something different we turned off Waipapa Rd and did back roads to Otorohanga then SH3 south to Te Kuiti. Then SH30 to Kopaki and cut through to SH4 (now you know where 1 is) then SH4 all the way to Wangavegas.
Paraparas are a bloody mess, good ride, but what a mess....

Found some good back roads between Mangakino and Otorohanga, had some fun with a nice chap on a CBR600 who tacked onto our tail for the paraparas, but it wasnt particularly quick (except in patches), lots of washouts, new seal, grit, shit, etc

The other 2 Connies went for a quiet ride to Taihape to meet up with my old man who'd come through the Naper-Taihape on his GS. The old lady didn't enjoy the Napier-Taihape but she did enjoy a brief dub on the 14.

The old man enjoyed the Concours too much - I couldn't get it off him and was stuck two-up on his tractor...

Nice......... The coast to coast may see four of us, RC from levin should show up on his, im picking

Heyya all, Is there anyone out there who would be able to transport me via motorcycle (or cage) from Woodville to Palmerston North Hospital this Saturday. I need to be there by 9am. I'm happy to get to the hospital a lot sooner than 9am to allow the person to go on and hook up with the coast to coast ride at Himatangi (where it starts). Any help appreciated
Cheers. Anthony

would love to help you out there if it wasnt for 2 reasons.

1. I am working till 8 and timing could be a bit tight.
2. you will see how dodgey my riding really is.
3. you might get scared.

was that 2 reasons?
