Shit she wont fill those leather pants as well if she does that.
Sarah may well have your guts for gaiters lol.. Do not comment on the tool hole on her bike... Sheesh, when I did I got it all terribly wrong and thought it was all over lol...
Needless to say, if your reading this Sarah, I have yet to find short enough plieers to fit in your whole ( on the bike) but I am sure I can sort something....

Yes, that tool hole is oddly located. I'm sure Honda knew what it was doing at the time tho. Besides, Honda's don't break down, they just fall to peices don't they?

Ashurst and surrounding areas are brilliant,Mangatoinoka not bad either.I like it when heading into Palmy you see the wind farm if the day is clear, also like it when heading home and see MtEgmont in the clear. When having radiation & chemo in Palmy always liked the sight of both when arriving and leaving. Was good to get to unit sunday or manday and good to be home on the friday, most enjoyable time had for 7 or so weeks, met some brilliant people, unfortunately several not here rip,so treat everyday as special, mind you mrs slow said why the fuck buy a bike,my reply was i've kicked this shit(hopefully)so a bike is no danger lol.
As it's my birthday all have a virtual drink on me.God it's good to be on holiday and fine day, back to work thursday bugger.Bike or golf clubs maybe both .:niceone:

What's wrong with my rear end, it's gorgeous and don't you forget it, any of you :nono:
And no I will not be parading any parts of my naked anatomy around Palmie on the 9th so you can breathe a huge sigh of relief :2thumbsup:
Lee, I will be dealing with your considerable cheek in due time, women never forget
As the rear end has created such interest. A nut had come adrift and a shaft had snapped, just not up to standard these old things hey  I think I have half sorted it, just need to get a new clutch and maybe a fairing so I don't get blown off and all will be fine:innocent:
Keep it clean boys!!!
Well as you can tell it was another bloody awesome road trip. I have really been spoilt since beginning my NZ riding career and I really appreciate 86 letting me be a part of a momentous occasion of the meeting of the GSXR's and of course for letting me ride the bikes, great fun:sunny:
I will probably live to regret that honesty
The forgotten highway sure won't be forgotten and we are already hatching plans for a revisit:ride:
86 has done a brilliant job of posting our pics and doing the ride report, it has been a mammoth task gettting them all organised as we had 3 cameras between us:yes:

Cheers Tony, we had a clear run back, bit cold towards the end but dinner was worth it.
I can neither confirm nor deny the 9th, although I'm wondering why Sarah is off to the tanning clinic and trying to get to 50 kgs lol (hope she doesn't see this) :dodge:
You are all in deep trouble, lots of grovelling (taking me for good roads trips will suffice) will be expected
Pure bliss is the WORD!!!
You will LOVE this road Bonez! Can't wait to do it again
I like bad naughty thoughts

Faaaark, what have I started lol. Well as Cowboyz and Meanie can confirm, this is one bloody amazing piece of road!!! I can't rate it highly enough. It's quick if you want it to be or just as good taken slowly. It'd be a pillions dream ride as the view changes constantly and every one is as good as the previous. The Hotel is perfectly placed for a stop and chill out (In fact, the hotelier quoted $95.00 pp a night which includes a 3 course dinner and cooked breakfast if anyone's keen on that option sometime).

Yes lotsa stops i agree... I am sure my little "spongebob" will not be spongey enough when I think about how long a ride it will be...may need a few days to recover but from what I have seen and heard it will be worth it!!
can highly recommend the sheepskin it really does save the ass
Faaaark, what have I started lol. Well as Cowboyz and Meanie can confirm, this is one bloody amazing piece of road!!! I can't rate it highly enough. It's quick if you want it to be or just as good taken slowly. It'd be a pillions dream ride as the view changes constantly and every one is as good as the previous. The Hotel is perfectly placed for a stop and chill out (In fact, the hotelier quoted $95.00 pp a night which includes a 3 course dinner and cooked breakfast if anyone's keen on that option sometime).
Have a great ride Sandra, take lot's of pics wontcha - none of the :Police: tho :sweatdrop Say gidday to those SI'ers
hmm hon reminds me of when you brought the daytona you started a trend .. guess your doing it again  will be in for that ride .. another weekend away sounds perfect :done:

You could go in front eh? Don't you know all the cops in the naki by name?
It doesnt matter if you are out front or not. Only matters where you are in relation to Meanie that determines if you get a ticket or not.
That's about 5 bikes now...
Trumpy, ZX-9, Bandit, 2 x Concours...
Maybe late Nov?
ARRGGGHHHH!!!. Just far to busy for the next few weeks. Mid Summer would be a nice ride.
do the who-macky-slap-me-whatsit thing.. Atleast that way I can put my name down and commit... IS it two up friendly? The Mrs would probably love the scenary.
How many K's etc?
You could get it in with 600km. Although the last couple of taranaki trips have come back at 684km and 720km. It is not as bad as it sounds. Up to stratford is really easy and back through nat park is real cruisy so not alot of work there. FH. Well that is a fair bit of work.
while the monster is a great bike, it wasn't built for long distance riding in mind.... I need to shell out on a new Sergant seat but for now will try and tough it out....Lots of photo stops lol
Just go down to woolys and get a little pink packet of HTFU.
If I can piss all over it on the 9 (which is no touring bike) then it cant be that bad.
I reckon it would be a real go over summer Bobby. Imagine that upstairs balcony packed with us lot  I'm pretty sure he said pp but that's easily sorted  :niceone:

Cost is $95pp night,go to whangamomonahotel.co.nz,balcony has better views than the Empire in Palmy (except when stockcar teams champs on),they were pretty much full when I rang in Sept through to xmas, later in Jan/Feb even March would be fine with weather, mind you when you come across a couple on horses on a tight bend is fun, trying to go quieter(30km)past them, and pull forther over to left when in middle of road and corner is fun, never sure how quiet the horses are, sometimes they may be young animals and flighty, not fun a 450kg passenger.

Mate, my seat slops towards the tank with no releif which = nuts crush at every application of the brake. Now, put the Mrs on the back, she slides foward aswell so double the weight on the old fellas kissing the tank... Yeah, the cheese cutter event doubles with the gisborne ride so I wont be going. Not that I agree with the cheese cuter rides anyway. There are plenty of backroads being ridden at pace where mistakes or running off line will send you over a bank or into a power pole or whatever. How about a ride saying they sweep road works on country roads after they have finished working on them? If you cant keep our bike on 1 side of a 2 or 3 lane highway there is something wrong. End Rant and not interested in discussing it but I wont be jumping up and down and running round on any of the cheesegrater rides.

I haven't seen a rally car as I work in Wanganui everyday so out of town between 0700 and 1730.... The only thing that screams passed my place is snotty nosed, pimply face boyracer GITS!!! I should be so lucky as to have a spec'd WRX or EVO or classic 2wd come passed here...

Saw a brand new "08 R1 in Hewitt's in Vegas this morning all black and sexy, a few changes from the '07 that make quite a difference. A local guy is trading his '06 ZX10 on it....wise man!
He he, who should happen along today while i'm watching them line up at the Targa but the dealer on said traded ZX10, guess what? It was'nt green!!!
Quite the nice mustard yellow (not Triumph yellow either....well not quite) done 11000k with nice sounding Remus cans. Reckons $15.5k for it which seems entirely reasonable given it's absolutely spotless. Time too trade up Cowboyz!

2 things wrong with that idea.
1. Its not right if its not green.
2. Have you seen the pillion seats on the ZX10R? The 9 was a healthy compromise between getting an armchair and a sportsbike. Mrs Cowboyz will not be impressed if her seat gets any smaller. I tried telling her all bikes were like that and then Meanie put her on the back of the Super Armchair and put paid to that.

like the pics  see there isnt much room in there for the tractor
so what odds have you set on what milage I will get from the rear and whos running the book:Pokey:
I was hoping to get some better pics but they'll do for a start. Had a few more but couldn't upload them. Bloody dial up, it has to go!!! The new tyre seems quite similiar to the power, I'm betting you'll get more than 2K tho. I would hope lol. Just got back from Wellie, first time I'd ridden the Triumph for ages. My rear suspension was still set for two up - very twitchy. Must wind it back a notch. The tractors a bit pissed, but hey. Priorities eh!
Nice bikes Alistair, was on way to work, filled up with gas at servo prior,a nice triumph 595? came in,parked away from me,and started pumping diesel, not sure how much went in but think it was most of tank. The diesel pump is right next to the 91 pump, and only diesel on car area, rest are 91 & 95 together. He arrived and was filling as I'd gone into pay,if the servo wasn't busy and eftpos slow could've alerted him,as it was as I went to my bike he said holy shit, was running lateish so had to leave, easy to do if not alert to pumps. You think a red, black or green pump handle is enough to remind you,but if you are usually in diesel vehicle for work it's possibly easy to do,haven't yet touchwood.
Shit!!!!!
That poor bike....I have almost done it.. As you said, so used to filling the truck with diesel so this time I grabbed the black handle totally forgetting I was on the bike.. Luckily I caught myself before I squeezed..
Bloody Hell.
hey he's only looking after the wife not keeping her :bash:
Actually, Sarah says she'd like to keep her. If that's OK? (just kidding, pleasure to have her in the garage mate, she's fitted in real well)
A few years ago I let a mate use my lawn mower, came back dirty, empty and not working, sent it in to be fixed, the guy in the mower shop said to me never lend ya mower or wife to mates, they'll both come back fucked. Also applies to chainsaws.
What a choice! The wife or the bike :dodge::eek:

Did it on my K2 Bandit once - piece of cake, but then it was pretty good in the gravel (wide bars, plenty of low down grunt).
Will see how the 14 goes on the gravel bits of the Forgotten Highway before heading across the Napier-Taihape. It is a good ride though.

DOn't know if I would like to attack it on the 14.. Hell, I will do the gravel on the monster but only because it is low, wide bars etc... But looking at your bike, that would worry the shit out of me as soon as I see the loose stuff..

Think it'd be alright - I'd only be worried about stones bouncing off the fairing etc. It's got the same wide bars, motor that doesn't need to rev and the weight would also help too - minimize that floating/rolling around on marbles feeling. Shaft drive a bonus too.
Sailed into some pretty nasty road works on the GC on it in top gear, just lopped it down 1 cog and kept going...

I am thinking I might have some small issues on the monster.. While it is low, wide and torquey, my front sprocket is way to tall...Doesn't like to be riden at low speeds at all, very jerky and the power comes on unexpected sometimes due to this..

We live in an amazing country and the bikes are definately the way to explore it.(even if I couold barely stand up straight at cheltenham because of my cold knees

Absolutely brilliant pics, just picked up my new toy today,a 5.1 10x camera, not a bad price as close out model($299),better than the kodak c310,but at least the kodak is small, new one not bad but the canon with lenses and film is still damn good and cheap(ala cash converters 4 yrs ago),so now can take all 3 with me in camera bag.Damn you guys, mind you next year with brothers wedding will use em all,and the blardy phone camera.:niceone:

Nice pics Yod. I still organising mine but theones on the desert highways didnt come out at all. Still too dark and I must have been shaking with the cold cause they are all blury. Camera probably did a sneaky change of setting on me in my bag too.
I am back (nearly) with the living again. I was buggered by the time I got home last night and today at work was a bit of a joke. Such a nice day I couldnt hide in the workshop either.

Trying out an aftermarket GIVI screen on the Honda, I look like a motorcycle cop from the dodgy 80's CHiPs series but it is surprisingly good. Chased 86 on the daytona for an hour or so last night :ride: and suddenly realised I had sunnies on and my visor up the whole time!!!!
May make the Gis trip a little less tiring on the arms etc. Great ride sunday , what roads!!!

not a bad idea - i noticed it was windier than the RF when I took it for a spin and I actually found it noisier inside the helmet too - not hugely so, but I did notice it

well, if we sell the house in the not too distant future (which is semi-on the cards) I may be allowed to play with some of the profits so might not need the debt....
but i do like the black one, didn't know they made it in black, only seen red, blue and silver up until now....mmm...black......

No the debt I was talkin 'bout. the only thing too late about the Ace is the rider.

Even more reason to get it! Get it now in case someone buys it. That's why I had to get the Daytona. But think of the consequences, and don't forget you'll need to buy another house too! :calm:

if we were to join in at pongaroa we'd still have to leave palmy at about 8 anyway wouldn't we? I'm not too fussed about making the 1000km mark...just out for a ride....but then knowing what I'm like, I probably won't sleep the night before anyway:laugh:
