Fair enough, but, it's easy to accidentally drop the clutch while on the limiter
Okay, no wheelies. Try rev limiter + drop clutch + front brake :blip:

Some guys say it counts against you, others say it doesn't,mate had no problems sitting his full but was 40yrs old, only put 1 foot on ground, tester said some regard it as not being in control of bike,i.e bike can fall over if rider is unbalanced, then a car runs over rider.Bit ott to me,but suppose it could happen in strong wind, pretty rare though.

You dont have to place both feet down when you stop. I asked the testing officer before my test, and he said 1 is fine.

Yep pays to ask first, some expect both feet on ground, similar to both hands on the wheel in a car,and don't answer the bloody phone,(heard a friends' cousin did that doh),1 hand on wheel, answered phone and wondered why the tester stopped the test.

am looking at a bike upgrade soon :wari: dont really know what type is should get, will get my full soon so thinking around 600cc, got about 3k to spend on it, wanting something that handles well, not after anything too powerfull V-twin is prolly good for torque, easy to work on, and reliability/longevity, an SV650 would probably be my choice if i had heaps of cash, but a bit out of my range atm. Seriously looking at a honda Bros 650 atm, any other ideas would be appreciated

2nd November 2009, 22:22
I would get a second opinion on this, the letter refers to the diameter of the piston. If previous pistons have scarred the bore than it could have been honed, meaning you may need a piston that is slightly larger, get one thats too skinny, it will smash about inside the cylinder and explode tearing a hole in the time/space continuum, probably sending you somewhere near the 9th/10th dimension. Or just seizing and sending you flying..

Either way not good..

Have you had any trouble with where the top coolant pipe exits the head on the new motor? Be a rangi and carb the prick, makes life easy  and it's not hard to set up a optical dizzy/ cam angle sensor to tell a set of coil packs what to do :done:

oh yes, both water pipes ext the rear of the engine, gonna take the head one up and across the top of all the injectors, and just loop the pipe of the water pump back round and under the exhaust manifold hopefully, don't wanna try welding the current pipe in case i fuck it, tried swapping the pump over so it would exit in the right place but then the pulley offsets don't work.

Sounds like fun! I'm doing a temporary motor swap into the bmw at the moment, throwing a scummy 202 into it untill I do the v8. It's going to be amusing, I may have to make my own sump and oil pick up and am going to have to do some fun "lets hope like fuck the driveshaft is balanced after welding and chopping it up" work. And build a set of headers for it :Punk:

sounds like quite a bit of precision work, dont want an unbalanced driveshaft pulling loose at speed. I my be able to hook you up with any CNC milling bits if you need something real precise.

Funny, I am more nervious about after/if I pass, test riding the Bonny. What if I don't like it? That will really screw with my head after wanting one for Soooooo many years.

Bit of an edit: 16 days and counting. It's not the 11th yet.

who wuda though a cartoon could produce such good metal

a lyrical excerpt

And your eyes have gone black,
you'll never look back
You'll never stop swimming, you'll always be tracked

Your life has transformed, your power has grown
You minions stretch for leagues,
for a bloody coral throne

A crown of murdered foes, will sit upon your head
Those that wish to challenge you
Will wish that they were dead

The beasts of the sea will collect and submit
Pray for your forgiveness, and live as you permit

:angry2:Well I just had an un-frigging believable experience, trying to buy a seat bag at a certain bike shop here in Palmy that is open on Sundays.

After telling the Salesman what I was after, and saying I wanted something to go on the seat, he has a look out the back and brings me a “Tank Bag”, I tell him that is no good, and He tells me, that’s what I asked for……

Let that slide, cause I want a bag for Tuesday, and only my lunch break tomorrow to sort one.

Find something acceptable, if a little bigger than I want and ask the price, because it doesn’t have one. He then proceeds to tell me he can’t help me, and puts it on the chair behind him.

I practically had my wallet out; does the recession not affect bike shops??????

Looks like I will have to ride to Wellington to test ride/buy the Bonnie.

I was seriously looking at the Triumph ST and new Buell, nobody even looked at me trying them on to see if I needed help or gee heaven forbid try to get me to buy. Also was after chain lube but thought stuff it I'll get it from Napier Suzuki accross from work this week.

Why should the customer have to ask to buy a bike,a quick "how are you","would you like the keys" approach maybe helpfull from sales guys, obviously they're on great base wages so don't need to sell bikes for the commission.
